In 2010 when we were in a souvenir shop in Seattle, Washington, we noticed a pirate statue in the corner. Needless to say, he made a great photo prop and that started our hobby of taking pictures of Bill with pirate statues.
No long after that we were passing through South Carolina and discovered a great seafood restaurant. In the lobby there was another pirate statue. And this is where pictures of Bill with pirate statues started to become a collection.
The next pictures of Bill and the pirate were captured in the Florida Keys and in St. Petersburg. Not long after that, we found our favorite pirate statue in a seafood restaurant in Homestead, Florida
We even found one in an antique mall in Maryland!
However, when we compared the photos, we realized that there were two different pirate statues, although the one in this photo is the one we usually find. The other style has more of a cartoon face.
Now our Bill-with-pirate-statue photo collection has grown to include pictures of him with pirate statues all over the world.
Many of the islands have the pirate statues and we find they are very popular in seafood restaurants.
