Monday, April 28th, 2014 – it's the end of the line. The ship returned us to Ft. Lauderdale where our friend, Bruce Ayala, picked up Bill at the port while I waited at the curb with our 42 assorted boxes and suitcases. (Twenty-eight of the boxes were license plates, 2 boxes were things to ship home for another passenger who was immediately going back overseas, both of our backpacks, my purse, my small carry-on suitcase with our computers and small keepsakes in it (even my new caftans which I didn't want to risk putting in my suitcase), 2 rolling duffel bags given to us by Holland America as cruise gifts which were full, and the last 6 suitcases were the ones with our clothes, toiletries , medicines, and everything else that we brought with us four months ago at the beginning of the cruise.)

Bruce took Bill to Miriam's sister's house where our van was kept while we were gone. Then Bill picked me up at the terminal and loaded our van with the 42 boxes, duffels, backpacks, and suitcases while Bruce went to get Miriam.

From there we went to a wonderful BBQ place where we met Bruce and Miriam for lunch. Excellent!

Later we grabbed a light dinner out with Bruce and Miriam, then went back to Miriam's condo. I went to bed early and so did Miriam but Bill and Bruce sat up for a few hours and practiced airplane landings on a flight simulator. I love Bill but I don't ever want to be in a plane if he is the one landing it! Not unless he gets in a lot more practice! Bruce is a real pilot and has his own plane! For every time Bill crashed it, Bruce made a perfect landing.

Saturday morning we all took the water taxi which was wonderful. We saw amazing mansions on the water and had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory.

After returning home Bruce and Miriam went to a Bruce Springstein concert in Miami and Bill and I boarded the water taxi again and rode around for a few more hours.

Wednesday morning we headed home. We had been gone for 4 months so it was time.

Our vacation was over.

(I made a lot of changes in the wording this morning and rather than repost the layout, I'm putting the new wording in the description so there are some differences - but the real layout has been changed so what is typed here is the actual working now.)
