I love this beach, been going there for years. But I never thought about it being a protected national park. Now that DH and I are passionate about wildlife and preservation this park has taken on a new meaning to me. Not something I love because it is fun or beautiful, but something I love because it is mine to take care of. There is a wonderful comfort in knowing that all across this country land has been set aside for us to love, enjoy, and protect. What a wonderful gift we have been given with our national and state parks.

The sandy footprint is DD's. How ironically she had done this at school within the same month. It matches so well with the picture of her and Daddy's foot I had taken that day.
