Auston turned 5 on the 7th (and I cried like a baby!!) and these photos were taken this past Sunday. I thought I would share the story of the flag (if you can’t read the journaling). He drew this flag and proceeded to tell me that there are 50 stars on the flag because there are 50 states, that the 13 stripes are because there were 13 original colonies, and what the words meant in the Pledge of Allegiance…like indivisible means never to be broken apart. He also informed me we live on the ‘gontinent’ of North America. J Needless to say…I was stunned, shocked and extremely proud of him for this new found knowledge.
