Wow, this is such a beautiful tribute to two souls touched by cancer. I am a cancer survivor myself. I really love the title, the white space and the hidden journaling. The smiling picture of Madison is adorable! To echo other posts, the ghost hearts are a great touch. This is a very powerful LO. Great job!
Gah! I miss the butterfly and the swirls. I really do. They gave the page such an ethereal quality; they added to the fleeting "spirits" of your subjects. I am really tearing up right now, though, reading the story behind this spread.
Jess, this is a beautfiul tribute. I like the reverse negative effect of these two pages together. Great use of papers and pictures to convey your feelngs. I love the ghost hearts and think they are perfect where they are! As this is a tribute and so very personal, any changes that I would make would be my own and not apropos. Therefore, I will say that I think this is beautiful and I am lovin' your work, miss Jess.
Jess, this is such a heart warmiing LO. A great memorial to people you love & miss. I love the simplicity of this that draws everyones attention to the souls you loved. The journaling is excellent.
I think I'll critique this one. Jess This is a beautiful story and I love the look of this. I feel like the page should be matching background color tough. I would put the Oh yesterday a tad higher and keep the oh suddenly at the same height so that the title creates flow with the heart {up then to the heart and then down} I would take some lace and put it across the page in the and stop when you reach the photos to anchor the eye to the photos. I liked the dragonfly .. I miss it
Jess, I love this lo! Sorry for you loss! I like the heart behind the photos and the little hearts on the photos! Th title is great too! I like the fact that you didn't lined the photos. Great job!
Jess, this is beautiful, sorry I didn't get a chance to critique this the 1st time around. The heart on each side is a wonderful, same w/ the painted-edge ghost hearts. Love the moving journaling, great how you made it hidden. I looked at your 1st tries on these pages & I really liked them then, but the little changes you made really add up to maximum impact & focus on the photos. I'm sorry for your loss; you have created an amazing tribute to your cousin & grandpa as a result. I hope scrapping this helped you with the healing. Fabulous job, hon.
This is a memorial LO for my cousin, Madison, who died at age three from a brain tumor. And, my grandfather who died last year from cancer as well. Under the pull tab there is a card from the benefit we had for her to raise money to help pay her hospital bills and get her a trip to texas with a specialist to help her beat cancer. Hidden journaling reads: "Although it has gotten easier to get through each day, there is not a day that goes by that I do not miss either of you. Madi- you were so young, and hadn't truly lived life. You did not deserve it. Pap- I am thankful you had a long and joyous life, but it is still hard to accept it. I love and miss you both so much!" Pull tab on the right has a pamphlet from my grandfather's funeral services. This was made for the beetlemania WC: to use a beetle's song title as the title of your LO. I used the song "yesterday".
