ok... so this is a little out of my box, in fact... not quite sure where this came from... ha!! i think it's this kit... i realllllllly wanted to use this dotted paper, but the second i got in on the lo, my inspiration took a big turn. love when that happens. anyway... alyssa & i have had several power struggles in the past week or so and they seem to be "maturing" a little. what seemed to be making progress with her tantrums a couple of weeks ago seems to be the very thing that escalates them now. sigh. i love this picture of her... this was taken the same day as the "preconceived notion" and "unblemished appearance" pictures were. i like the dirt on her face in this one... it seems to also go with the theme of not quite the "girl" i had in mind. hehe!!!!

JOURNALING: Yes, I admit... I had many fears about being a mother to a girl. But relating to you was not one of them. I thought that would be a breeze. I envisioned you being rather sensative and maybe even a little sappy... sweet and appeasing and very easy to understand. However, you seem to have gotten most of your personality from your daddy... which is *completely* opposite from mine. Therefore, I do not always understand you. I cannot relate to temper tantrums and immediate frustration upon a failed attempt at something. I fear this may be a struggle between us as you're growing into your personality. So I just want to make sure you know that I will bend and flex as much as God will allow in order to make a solid connection with you. I may not always be able to relate to what you're feeling. But I promise to always try to be aware of that fact and respond to you in a way that will help you cope with what you're facing... in your own way... not mine. I love you, sweet girl.
