Description: This one was hard to do and I actually don't know what came over me today. But here is the story - ever since the twins were born (1 1/2 years ago) Kaden (my oldest son 5 1/2 years) has really gotten a raw deal! Ok, well he is totally loved and gets plenty of things, but what I am talking about is that he is somewhat neglected now. I have to give way more time and attention to Karter and Kierra because of the age they are at and Kaden just quietly takes it and goes and does his own thing. It literally breaks my heart that I can't give him the undivided attention that he so deserves. This kid is amazing and has matured so much over the past year and I just wanted to journal how I feel about this time in our lives so that he knows that I really do love him!! It is hard right now and some days just seem impossible! Kaden went to his grandparents' house this afternoon, the twins are napping and so the house is quiet. Now is when I can give him that time and he isn't here for me to do that. I miss him! So this is more rambling than you probably wanted to know, but it is the inspiration for this page. Thanks for looking and "listening" - scrap therapy always works wonders! LOL!!

Oops - here is the journaling:
I'm sorry for not always being the best mom
I'm sorry for losing my patience at times
I'm sorry for not playing with you when you ask
I'm sorry if I am too busy cleaning or scrapbooking
I'm sorry if I take my frustrations out on you
I'm sorry for constantly telling you to be quiet
I'm sorry if I send you to bed early
I'm sorry if we can't go outside and play because of my allergies
I'm sorry that I don't always listen with my full attention
I'm sorry for telling you to pick up after your brother and sister
I'm sorry that we don't have enough alone time together
I'm sorry that we don't always get to bed early enough to read books
I'm sorry that I tell you to go play because I am busy
I'm sorry for blaming you when your brother or sister gets hurt
I'm sorry that I have to pay more attention to them right now
I'm sorry that we are not able to get out of the house more often
I'm sorry for all the things that make you feel bad or sad
I'm sorry for not always being the fun and happy mom
But through all of my faults, I am not sorry that I am your mom
I'm not sorry that I love you so much
Times will change and things will get easier
Thank you for being so patient and understanding
Thank you for loving me no matter what
Thank you for being you

Oh my gosh, this brought tears to my eyes. I can really relate. Ella is getting the raw deal at our house - the boys are just taking up more time. Such wonderful, honest journaling. Beautiful!

I completely remember reading this and really thought I had left a comment! YIKE! Anyway, this was just wonderful that you journaled this and shared it with all of us. I completely understand it as it is often what happens in our household. The 2 little ones take up sooooo much of our time and attention that we tend to be impatient with our oldest son. He is 15 and we often get so caught up in his general self-sufficient ways that we forget that he still needs us and our attention. sigh......I do sooooo get this.

Oh Kami, this is just so touching!! I feel the same way about my eldest, I'm always feeling guilty that she doesn't get as much attention as my littley and that I expect so much more from her. Beautifully done Kami!!! Btw.....great photo of you!!

Hey, girl! All of us moms are right there with ya! I was kind of feeling this way this morning at church during Youth Sunday; I recognized how much more time I should spend interracting with my kids. Thanks for saying what so many of us feel!
