Description: The journaling box flips up to read: Even when a flag is torn and dirty, it is illegal to discard of it. The scouts service the community by retiring the flags by burning them ceremonially. First the blue field with the stars has to be cut out, then the stripes can be cut. Each piece of the flag is placed into the fire in honor of or in memory of someone who served or is serving. Alex's piece is in honor of his great Uncle Carson who died in WWII.
