Description: If you're giving this LO a second look, please read the journaling, because I feel that it's truly the star here. The pic is my dd waiting for a parade to start on the fourth of July. Yeah, she isn't looking at the camera, and her hair is quite a mess,BUT she is beautiful and innocent. I want to let this girl know that parades aren't JUST about loud sirens, face paint, and people throwing candy. She will grow up,and she'll learn for herself WHY we have parades and fireworks.
Journaling:
Although you don't yet know it Rylie,
you are one lucky girl.
You were born in America,
land of the free, full of opportunity.
You will be free to worship as you choose.
Your basic rights are protected.
You will have a say in politics,
by voting for the candidates you feel
will best serve your country.
As a woman, you will have the same
chance as a man for any job you choose.
You will learn that this freedom has
come at a great price, and with much sacrifice.
There has been much blood shed, and many tears shorn.
You will one day find that the sight
of an American flag billowing in the breeze
fills you with pride.
You will sometimes shed a tear
when someone sings the National Anthem.
You will learn that being an American is much more
than parades,cookouts,and fireworks.
You will thank the heavens
you were born in America
and be willing to sacrifice to defend it...
This is a gorgeous page. You always have amazing layouts, but I especially like this. I like the journaling the most - and you know what? It is just as much true for Canada as it is for America. Our rights and our freedoms have come at a cost as well. Thanks for reminding me of this. This layout is amazing.
