Description: This is my BIL Ricky in his little patch of turnips. Journaling on carrot says: "I guess you can take the boy out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the boy. Here's Ricky in his little patch of turnips in his backyard in Cininnati, OH. Late summer 2008."

The "frame" around the pick is an old note card I've had for years - I tore out the middle then used the distressing tool on it and inked it with black. The black mat was cut with Fiskars deckle scissors. The carrot I freehanded and cut out, then drew on the details with a black pen and inked the edges. The turnips are all freehanded, too - I stamped the letters, then added the chalk to make the purple tops, the cut out the "turnips" and inked them. Then I backed them with green and gave then little tops. The veggies across the bottom are cut from a single sheet of pp that had a b/w check bg, which led to me adding the b/w check around the edges. Thanks so much for looking.
