I can definitely relate to all your frustrations......but this turned out GORGOUES! The lampost is perfect! I love your butterflies, flowers and ribbon. FAV!
I loved reading your description, especially about the DA and reading measurements! Sounds so familiar! But look what you did with it! Gorgeous page, and with this photo, a lasting treasure!
Absolutely beautiful! The pink-on-black looks great, and I love all of the delicate details. The lamp post size is perfect (whether you read about it before order it or not), and I'm loving the weathered look you created on it.
Whatever fried technique you used on the lamp post really works. I love size of the lamp post and the the way the flowers are surrounding and climbing up the post. The ribbon is a great touch! This LO is beyond beautiful. Favs for sure!
I don't know how you could have visualized this any more beautiful than it is. Your lampost is in perfect proportion to the photo and even if you nearly fried the finish it looks perfect. Love all the details and the great design. Beautiful flowers and ribbons and color and what a gorgeous photo. Fave!! My los almost never turn out how I envision them.
OH OH OH!!! THis is simply exquisite! You are a TOTAL PRO with the vintage and heritage lo's! I still haven't used my DA, so thanks for the tip about their blog and tutorials. But looks like you could give the tutorials!!!! Funny thing....I was fooling around last night and experimenting with water distressing too! LOL! This stunner goes straight to FAVES!!!
Wonderful lo such a beautiful vintage at that. Gosh I'm glad I don't get photographed in the street, I certainly wouldn't look as nice as your parents do Maryanne. Love it all.
This layout is fanflipintastic!!!! Into faves.. WOW!!!! I love that texture of the lightpole.. your are right I think I would be intimidated by the size.. but wow you rocked this layout!
STUNNING.....a beautiful foto of your parents, and just a divine lil design, Oh so luv your s/m street lamp and how you have enhanced it.. The papers, the ribbon and the flower spray all so gorgeous....fav for me
well,it turned out wonderful and I love the lamppost! the colours and pps you chose are gorgeous and set off the photo so well!love the butterflies and ribbon.
You did a wonderful job!! I love the light post, I could see how it could be intimidating..it is very large. But you made it fit nicely. Def going into my fav's!!
This is a photo of my parents which I am guessing was taken in the early 1940's. It was taken in Sydney where they were living at the time. It was quite common for sidewalk photographers to be out and about taking photo's. Even in that era it looked to be very busy! This layout was a bit of a struggle and not the visualised finished project that I had in mind. The lamp post is Dusty Attic and although I love it I found it very intimidating because of the size of it...most people would read measurements before ordering...lol. I didn't know how to paint it and I almost fried it with the heat gun...in the end it turned out ok. Then I tried the water distress technique... that failed and ended up in the bin...so I settled for some old pp's and decided not to do the distressing. The butterfly and swirl chippie is Scrapmatts who also make beautiful laser cuts. TFL :)
