Beautiful heritage lo of your Grandfather. Yes, he was a very handsome soldier. You might try www.archives.gov to see if you can get information on your grandfather's military service. If there is a recruiting office or American Legion near you I am sure they would be able to help you too. Do you have a photo of him with a patch sewn on the side of his arm? The metal on his chest on the right is an Expert marksmanship metal. The other metal we are not sure of since it is too hard to see from the photo. I hope this information will help you find out more about your grandfather. I know what it is like to have pieces missing in the family tree. Sorry this is sooooo long.
