I took this photo of my Mum and Dad, back in January 2011, the last time I was in Australia. They're sitting on their garden bench, under the shaded patio of their house. Their patio overlooks their beautiful front garden, which is a source of pride and pleasure for them both. It's a welcoming oasis of native Australian plants and traditional perennials and annuals. There's a bird-bath, frequented regularly by many different birds, a fern house and rose bushes. The hedge and lawn are Dad's pride joy and the care and skill with which he tends both are evident as you wander through the yard. Mum loves her flowers and there are many pretty varieties growing in pots and hanging baskets. This will always be home to me, as long as they're both there. I love this photo, they're happy and healthy and that brings me much comfort, especially living so far away as I do.
Many thanks to JillyM for the Scrap FX photo corners.
