FREEDOM IS NOT FREE. All gave some and some gave all.
Every year in September, City Park in Bluefield becomes the Park of the Fallen Soldier. The Red Cross and its volunteers prepare white crosses for every soldier from Virginia and West Virginia lost at war. It has their photo, name, rank, date of death, and home town listed. The crosses are all lined up and you can walk thru the memorial. It is a very emotional experience especially when you come upon someone you knew.
The next time you see a soldier, tell him THANK YOU.
