So I reprinted the photo to B&W and after much staring at it I think this is the way to go. I will probably still have a go at scrapping the original colour photo in a less 'busy style' as suggested by Sue Feher at some stage but for now, even if it doesn't look better on the screen, IRL I'm happier with the B&W photo.
Just wanted to share this as a couple of people have asked me about it. No need to comment but if you have time a quick 'yes' for better or 'no' if it's a lost cause would be appreciated.
Oh! My! the insecurities of scrapping the 'special' photo!!!!!!! *sigh*

Stunning photo; beautiful layout. (Personally, I really like the layout with the coloured photo OR the B&W photo. Both are great, and it's hard to decide which is "better.")

This looks quite striking, Vija, but if I had to choose, I think the colour photo was warmer. This wonderful photo could be scrapped so many ways and be a masterpiece every time!

I hear you about the insecrities!!! I really do love them both Vija, but I think I have to agree with you... the b&w does look better. I say: Scrap this fabulous photo as many times as you'd like!

It was beautiful before. But wow changing the photo to black and white really makes it pop!
Vija, I loved it before and I love it even more! Changing the photo to b&w was pure genius! fave!

Gosh, Vija, it's hard to decide - you've created two very different effects, equally beautiful. It's hard to go wrong with that gorgeous photo. If I absolutely had to pick one (like with a gun to my head) I think I would probably go with your latest version, which is so dramatic and striking . . . but the color shades of the other photo are so rich and lush, that I'm torn between picking one. I love them both for different reasons. Thanks for showing us how a simple LO change can create two very different, equally gorgeous, effects.

I love this one better than the other one. Great job.

I LOVE them both....gorgeous work either way!!!!!!
Both pages are very beautiful!! Love the design, pps, and beautiful details on both. I really love the dramatic feel of the color photo vs the b/w though.
WOW Vija, both los are truly GORGEOUS. (this is certainly NOT a lost cause.) There's no doubt that your choice of pp and design are elegant and perfect for a wedding lo. Personally I like the lo with the colored photo better. I don't think the staircase and chandelier have the dramatic effect in B&W as they did in the colored photo. Seems like there are mixed opinions on which one is better. I don't think it's a matter of a "Bad" lo, or "Better" lo - it's all in what you perceive. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I see nothing but BEAUTY in both los.

Awesome photo! Pretty layout.
Both are very lovely! but I'm weighing in on the color one. If you keep the b&w I'd use less color....But either way you have created something beautiful around a beautiful photo and day!
Beautiful both ways!
They are both stunning! I think I like the one in color better - it's warmer to go with the cooler background. But I like this one, too! It's amazing how the photo looks so different in B&W!!!!! thanks for sharing this with us, Vija!!! Now try not to be so hard on yourself!!!!! Your layout is beautiful and the most beautiful thing about it is that it was made with love from your heart to them!!!!!
I like this one to, but the one in color was very beautiful!
I think it is gorgeous...outstanding!!

Oh my, this looks absolutely stunning! You really made this background paper shine. I love the pops of colour.
Wow Vija...you know they are both knockouts in my opinion BUT I do lean a little more to the B&W!!! Having said that, both are incredibly gorgeous!!!
They are both gorgeous but I really love the LO with the color photo.
WOW!!!! Love what you have done to enhance this photo...with your paper and embellishment choices. You had an amazing photographer and beautiful backdrops! I would love to sit down and go through your book page by page IRL! They are amazing.

you know this is just as divine with the black/white foto as it is with the color foto, need I say anymore.....xo
This is beautiful. My eye went directly to the pohoto but then enjoyed wandering around the page. I love the bits of bright color in the flowers and the butterfly. I love the paper you used, it enhances the the photo's background. I love the layering and the subdued colors.
I love them both ,the pps are lovely and I have them myself. I would try a rich and plusher colour with the coloured one and see if that works as it's a beautiful rich coloured photo and may need a more elaborate pp.Maybe I'm wrong and confusing you more.
