Abby, that sweet little, innocent looking dog can do that much damage??? Wow! I would never have thought by pics that she could be so destructive! You have done a wonderful job with the layout....awesome stitching, it looks so neat! Great job Lisa!
This is awesome! I love everything about this Lisa! My sisters Australian shepherd dog can decimate a stuffed animal and get to the stuffing and squeaker in about 2 minutes. Incredible to watch!
This is a shot from January 2010 of all the mutilated toys I had to take away from Abigail, my Yorkie. After gathering them up from all the high surfaces in all the rooms of my house, this is the pile I ended up with. There are have been MANY more since. LOL Journaling says: These are the toys (those that haven't been already thrown out) that Abigail has destroyed. On some, the damage is not clearly visible here, but all of them have some type of hole where she can pull out the stuffing or get to the squeaker or have just been shredded to the point of being unsafe. She's brutal -- some of these lasted literally less than a day. The larger ones were Lexie's that lasted for years until Abby got ahold of them. I saved a few with sentimental value, but the rest are garbage.
This is my example for my March Four Categories Challenge - Category Three ~ Technique: Stitching. The twist is to stitch a word, letter, or number on the LO. I stitched the title. I also have a few cross stitches around the LO.
Also for the March Sewing Challenge with the stitched word twist, and the VLB Challenge to use blue and green on a LO.
I used an old MSC sketch by MelissaW. I masked the bg with gesso and black mist. I painted the grungeboard skull, which I used because it reminded me of Sid's shirt in Toy Story, with gesso and misted the eyes and nose punch outs with black and put them back in. I used stuffing that I found on the floor from out of one of Abby's toys (surprise, surprise) to peek out from behind the strips in places and held in place by the cross stitches. I distressed my stitches in both the title and the cross stitches by pulling and cutting various strands to emphasize the damaged look.
Other products: Paper: Paper Studio Floss: DMC gesso; black cs; stuffing
