Hello all! I have purchased two unadorned chipboard albums for my Ancestry/Genealogy Research books. They are for 8.5x11 documents. I want to alter the outside and I searched projects here but I am looking for suggestions. I am thinking I can ink/stamp, use metal embellishment, mask etc, but I have too many little ideas in my head and it really has not come together yet. Any ideas or suggestions? I already have the Tim Holtz metal corners I am thinking of using. In my head I am seeing clocks, watches timepieces, but possibly would use other vintage images.
I looked an looked before I settled on these chipboard albums. I wanted something for 8.5x11, but not a regular "school" notebook.
I also think I need one of the new tab makers for the inside otherwise the tabs will be white.

Love your idea of vintage and watches! Maybe decoupage using old book pages or maps of where your family is from? If your family has a crest, maybe put that in the cut out on the cover? Also--just a suggestion-whenever I want to tone down paper (patterned or not), I use Antique Linen distress stain. Gives it just enough "aging". Good luck with your project!

Hi Vicki~ I had a Bo Bunny "naked" chipboard type album (9X9?) and covered it with paper, and muslin fabric:) You can see it in my gallery ( Baby album May 24 2012) the one with Winnie the Pooh-there is a lg white vertical bow - also, Elmer's makes a nice spray adhesive -anyway, what ever you do I wish you the best and will watch for it in the future!~ Karen
