how funny! we used to have neighbors that had peacocks and hens - and they make the funniest noises - sometimes sound like cats howling!

Oh yes, they used to do that at the Kansas City Zoo and you would know they were there until one let out a load schreeeeeeeech and scared the liver out of you.

how fun! Our zoo has them just roaming about and my kids ALWAYS without fail have to try to sneak up as close as they can get without making one fly!
