Description: This was taken in Deadwood, South Dakota yesterday. Deadwood has a lot of history as a mining town dating back to 1876. Now it is a place to explore history and for people to visit the casinos there. I prefer the history myself! These windows are in a building in a section of Deadwood that was known for it's gambling, rough drinking places and brothels way back when. In these windows, maniquins portray the "soiled doves" giving the miners a "glimpse" of what that particular house of ill repute might have to offer.

04-Jul-09

I love the building and the history. Last summer BIL, SIL, and the in-laws went to SD and stopped in Deadwood, but I don't remember them saying anything about this. They don't get into the history of things like I do.
