I reused the top of the jeans I had originally cut for my skirt, and turned it into a bag. Looks like it should easily hold my picnic blanket, or at least towels and beach stuff. Thinking of adding a little bit of velco to each pocket to help keep them closed - that way I can put keys, etc into them and not have it fall out.
