Description: My work area consists of actually two separate desks that I purchased from Ikea a few years ago. We originally used them in our home office so we could have two separate work areas. When we moved into a new home in Fall 2007, instead of getting rid of them, I placed them in an L-shape so I could use them like this. It works great for me because I'm right-handed and everything is easy to reach. One more note: the shelf on top of the desk is also from Ikea (the Lack shelf); we used in our old home in the living room on the wall to display alot of pictures...this too I almost got rid of but decided to place on top of two small plastic drawers at either end of the desk to maximize my desktop space.
