I made this page 'Grow beyond your wildest dreams & Shine' for my first post as a contributor for Ideas For Scrapbookers. Creative Photo Cropping is one of my favorite techniques and I love creating scenes around fussy-cut pictures.
Schools in India start in June every year (not in autumn like in other parts of the world). So summer stands for end of vacation, buying new school supplies and of course, the first day of school!
I used the journaling prompt - Tradition - and wrote about the Sanskrit prayer we chanted before Karishnu set off on his first day to school.
With Karishnu, we have the fourth generation in our family pursuing education. My mom loved to tell us stories about how my grandfather had to walk through snake-infested fields to reach school everyday. Whether she was exaggerating to drive home the importance of education is something I would never know...LOL!
