Today, July 1, is the start of the rainy season here. Not that it's been dry before today. We've had a lot of rain lately, and rain in the summer is just not something I'm used to, especially a hot, humid rain. YUCK!!! Somedays you feel like you're stuck in a sauna and can't get out. Not very pleasant. It also messes up plans to have been spending the summer by the pool. The rain started last night and hasn't stopped, at times it's just come down in a deluge! My DS is a bug hunter and came running inside not too long ago to tell me about a "HUGE" Monarch Butterfly. I grabbed the camera and went after him. Well, it wasn't exactly "HUGE" but it was a beautiful one. Unfortunately, he wouldn't sit still long enough to get a decent photo--wouldn't allow me to get very close either. I just discovered John's actions and WOW! I've been hearing people talk about them for sometime, but they were a bit pricey and didn't think they'd be any different from what I have. Nope! The challenge this week is childhood. Hmmm? Play is the first thing that comes to mind as does vacation and travel. How about a trip to the beach! Another icon of childhood, the teddy bear. Over the weekend. We had the opportunity to go to an exhibit at an art museum: Teddy and Friends, Around the World in a Day. What fun! WOW, since I started a family blog, this one has been poorly neglected. Guess I need to fix that. I also just joined the photo blog so that should help keep this current and it'll be more photography related.
