It's really about organization and preparing for scrapping/scrapbooking/cropping, which ever you prefer to call it. I used to use an album and its sheet protectors for this purpose. I'd put the photos (uncropped) facing the right ways in the album. Insert the bg papers into the protectors (facing the right ways). Insert accent papers and embellies with the photos. This seems to get asked alot here, too.
First of all, it all depends. If there's going to be demonstrations and/or opportunities to learn there, you want to take things that you can experiment with. If you just want to hang out and chat etc. you don't have to pack much more than a camera (so you can crop it later). This is being asked alot lately. So I'll blog about it too.
Flatbed scanners that can scan 12x12 layouts in one scan start in the $1,000 range and goes up from there. I do not think most scrappers can budget that into their expenses. I know I can't!
I avoided 12x12 layout due to not being able to scan them. I like to digitize everything that I make and save them to a CD. Digital Storage is another topic that I'll blog about later.

I was listening to another study. And the teacher/preacher translated the meanings of the names from Adam to Noah. He explained the transliterations, not straight translations but spelling into English from the Hebrew phonetically.
