Assignment E Journaling (hidden under picture)
I’m about the furthest from a Catholic that one might find. But going to a Catholic college, Mary is everywhere – built into walls, in paintings, mosaics, little glass statues on desks and shelves – but my favorite is the statue tucked away in the corner of a rarely-used entrance. She isn’t very realistic as I’m fairly sure that Mary wasn’t a pale white woman who would dress in fine robes, but something about her brings me a great sense of calm and comfort. This winter hasn’t been an easy one for me, and seeing her sereneness brings me peace.
