I haven't scrapped for a while, my little dog has cancer and I haven't much felt like it. But, as Anzac Day has been and gone, and these perfect pps were released, I played around a little with some memorabilia from my Grandad. The pic was taken on his return from New Guinea, as was written by him on the back of the pic. He never spoke of war, or went to any of the rememberance ceremonies, preferring not to glorify war were his words. He did however keep a diary of his thoughts which was found only after he passed away. He had dementia in his last few years and it was then that he would go back to war times. Very hard to see as it distressed him so much. The note was found amongst his things, in his handwriting. It seems to be a poem of sorts, I am not sure if he wrote it but the message is clear. HATE WAR. It is also marked as 10yrs. I wonder if it was written on 10 yrs of his return. With all my heart I loved him, he did return from War but in the end it killed him.
