Done for the Swirlydoos Ultimate Design Challenge - week 4. This week we had to play with canvas and focused on the background and applying texture and layers to it. The picture doesn't really bring out the colors (we're in the middle of a blizzard and couldn't take the picture outside!) I did a stamp resist along the edges of the border with clear embossing ink and then went over it with distress ink (peeled paint) and embellished with liquid pearls (peacock and buttercut). I glimmer misted the center of the canvas (crushed shells and candlelight). The tree and birdcage were done with molding paste and embellished with liquid pearls (gold, ocean blue and emerald green). The bird cage was also outlined with stickles (cinnamon). I glimmer misted some gauze bandage (marshmallow and olive vine) and then mod podged it to the canvas. The title (family) as made by applying a small amount of molding paste to the canvas and then stamping the word "family" into it; then I applied some liquid pearls to bring out the embossed word (ocean blue and avocado). The date was stamped onto another stamped image (Color Box alpine) that I hoped would mimic the gauze in texture. The round embellishment is a DA chippie that was coated in white acrylic paint, embossed with a CB folder, and then painted with Adirondack acrylics (metallic gold and lettuce) as wella s some liquid pearls (peacock). The photo corners were made with metal tape (loved working with it last week); embossed and painted with metallic gold and then applied some liquid pearls to enhance the dots.
