Journaling: I was not blessed with decorating or party planning genes, so when I started planning Mama’s 85th birthday celebration, I was in a quandary. Since the party was the third weekend in October, I thought a fall color scheme would work and decided on purple, green, and orange. Then I turned to Pinterest in hopes of finding ideas that even I could execute. I was not disappointed.. The glittery spray-painted pumpkins immediately caught my eye as something simple and pretty. And the glass vases filled with candy corn and appealed to my sweet tooth. Boy, did they appeal -- I probably gained 5 pounds eating my craft materials, but the decorations looked great at the party.
