My Flappers online scrap buddy (Flat Scrapper group on www.scrapbook.com), Bonnie, and her husband, Craig, moved from Seattle to Hawaii earlier this year and I couldn’t wait to see her! We met at the craft and scrapbooking place on Pearl Harbor for a little shopping. Then we all four piled in our rented Mustang convertible and had a nice tour of both Hickam and Pearl Harbor with Bill as our tour guide.
The morning flew by and we were all getting hungry. We agreed to try Schooners on the base for a late lunch! The meal was good but the company made it special; we really had fun getting to know each other better.
The next weekend (Friday night) we all met at Bill’s favorite Italian place in Hawaii for dinner. That was followed by a tour of Bonnie and Craig’s awesome new condo and a chance to look at some of Bonnie’s scrapbooks.
I was surprised when Bonnie presented me with the beautiful “Aloha Birthday card” she made for me. My birthday was a month earlier but Bonnie knew we were coming to Hawaii so she saved it to give to me in person.
The view from Bonnie & Craig’s condo is breath-taking and as an added treat there is a fireworks display every Friday night on Waikiki Beach which we were able to enjoy from Bonnie & Craig’s balcony.
Bonnie invited me to come back on Sunday to work on scrapbook projects together. She had just bought a new Cheery Lynn Koi die which I loved so she cut out several for me and pieced papers behind them to give them brilliant colors! She also made a beautiful die cut for me of a Hawaiian Aloha shirt! I know Bonnie had a lot of scrapbooking she wanted to do and I felt guilty that all she did was make things for me but I love everything she made for me and I can’t wait to use them on my pages!
I cannot believe that I, the one who always has a camera around my neck and another in my pocket, did not take one picture!
