Tender Moments

This is a photo of my grandfather holding my father. He can't be more than a few days or weeks old here and was taken in Feb 1918. I love the tender look on my grandfathers face as he holds his newborn son. I didn't get to know my grandfather as he died in 1928 leaving a young family. As I was doing this layout I was astounded at how much one of my sons looked like him. My grandmother remarried in 1936 to a wonderful man, who became the grandfather we all loved.

Some colours of layouts don't photograph very well and this is one of them. I used the new Kaisercraft Pickled Pear collection for this and mixed it with Prima flowers, DA chippie and a few bits and pieces from my stash. I am still on a misssion to mix the old stash with the new. It is also the first time I have attempted any masking and I was so nervous, but I was happy that I managed not to botch it.
