I made this mini cookbook awhile ago. This is one of my favorites because I have photos of how people cooked in the days of ice box, etc. It is amazing that women made the most delicious dishes to serve their families. Store bought goods were mostly staple items like flour, sugar, lard, eggs etc. Meat was a luxury and bought sparingly. Many people grew vegetables and stored them for the winder. Then I moved into the 50's were modern appliances became popular. Refridgerater, stoves, toasters, coffee pots, etc.
Today the luxerties of the dishwasher, microwave, nice washers and driers, crockpots, technology has be installed into homes. We buy from boxes, frozen vegetables, pies, anything you want. Who cooks much or bakes with family dinners on Sunday? I do and many of you do. Somewhere the love of making food out of real ingredients has declined. I do not like all the junk I cannot even pronounce on my table.
I have also included my families favorite dishes, and I was really surprised.
