Bio:
Hi, my name is Angi. I'm 35 and addicted to Scrap. Problem is, I don't really scrap, I collect. But I'm trying to change that :)
About five years ago I left my job as an Accountant so I could be a SAHM. Little did I know then that my world was about to be turned upside down. On my 31st birthday (2005) I detected a lump in my breast. Shortly thereafter I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer - the first in my family to have cancer.
I underwent some radical surgical procedures and a couple months of chemotherapy, then I set out to have reconstruction. Due to complications it took several attempts and surgeries. During one reconstruction procedure 3 years (2008) from my diagnosis, my plastic surgeon had found suspicious looking tissue in my chest wall. He removed it and later found that the cancer had returned. This recurrence further delayed the reconstruction process for me as I had to undergo 7 weeks of daily radiation. Now I'm a 2 time Breast Cancer Survivor. I have been cancer free now since December 2008, though I am still undergoing a bit of the reconstruction process.
I blog both professionally and personally about Breast Cancer. I also try to dedicate as much of my time as I can to helping women learn about, treat and cope with Breast Cancer.
I enjoy taking lots of pictures to scrap. But due to medical reasons I guess you could say I took a long hiatus from scrapping. I've been scrapping off and on now for 9+ years. I find that my styles and techniques are constantly changing and evolving, just as the scrapbooking trends do. Sometimes I'm unsure which I like more, scrapbooking or shopping for supplies. I shop too much and scrap too little!
I have an amazing family - a beautiful 9 y/o daughter and a wonderful, caring husband of nearly 10 years. They inspire me in more ways than I can count!
If you'd like to know more about me, please feel free to check out my blog - the link is below. I don't really blog here cause I have to watch what I say and I don't like sensoring myself. So if you visit my blog, just know that it does include adult language - so, you've been warned!
Thanks for stopping by!
