I am the mom of three: boy (20 yrs), girl (18 yrs), boy (13 yrs).  I have been so busy with them and their activities for so long (plus working full time), and now they are finally finding their independance!  Not only is that exciting in that they have become fully functional human beings who are independant souls, but also because I get to revert back to being me (not "so & so's mom") and doing what I want to do - and that is anything creative!

My husband was in the Navy for 20 years, so  we moved around alot and as soon as I got to know people well, we were off.  Don't get me wrong, i loved all the moving.  I thought it was a great life.  At one job, about 12 years ago, I had a co-worker who was a creative memories rep.  She tried to get me involved in scrapbooking then, but with 3 small kids and an absentee husband, I looked at her like she was nuts!  About 4 years ago some moms from cub scouts tried to get me to join them at a crop, and I just couldn't fathom spending that much time putting pictures in a book.  Those scout moms finally bugged me enough to go to a crop last summer and I was hooked! 

If only I had realized how much fun I'd have and what a wonderful creative outlet it is for me sooner!  I could just kick myself!!  Now I am totally obsessed with scrapbooking and those scout moms regret ever getting me started.  :-)While they prefer the more streamlined layouts that are clean ane neat, I am totally into embellishments, fancy papers and bling, not to mention fun techniques (like stitching & stamping)!  In a word, they are jealous.  They just never realized what creativity I was hiding underneath it all.  My oldest friends (who live in other states) and know my creative side are so glad I've found an outlet.  

Even my husband is enjoying the new 'old' me.  He is very supportive... because that means I didn't moan when he got a new camera - because that means i'll get more, better pics to crop!
