Bio:
I am new here but not to scrapping. I still consider myself a novice even though I've been doing it for almost 8 years now. I think I still have a world of stuff to learn. I have two beautiful daughters, Alicia is 5 and Cordelia is 4. They are my reason to scrap. I am married to a disabled Marine Corps vet. I am a transplant from Southern California. I've been here for over 3 years now but still can't get used to how different things are. We live in a haunted house on a cursed property and we have a poltergeist that's attached to my husband for life. Life is never dull around here! We love animals and our "ZOO" consists of:2 Siberian Huskies: Hamlet & Ophelia,7 female cats of various breeds:2 O'Clock, Splat, Jimmy Whispers, PieBall, Snowball, Perpatrater, TurnPike, 1 Turtle: Squirt (He got too big so now he lives in our backyard pond:3/07),1 Black Bear hamster: Fatso (died 8/10/07),1 Chinese Dwarf hamster: Gaw (MIA since 2/28/07-feared dead),2 Ferrets: Samantha & Spike, and almost 20 fish. As of 4/27/06 we now also have a canary named Fido. My husband spells it Fideaux. As of 9/1/06 my hubby got me a sugar glider!! She's the cutest little thing! Her name is Zucchini. As of 2/28:We also have a new pet bunny, Oreo. And we also added a baby Guinea Pig: Porky Pig. I felt so bad about Gaw that I had to make it up to Ali after she told me he was her "best hamster" and she was "so proud" of him. We got him on 3/13/07. One Sunday 3/18 we added a female Guinea Pig: Cartoon and two more rabbits, both female. One is named Odette (from the Swan Princess) and the other is Thumper. Tuesday 3/20 we added a female Chinchilla: Foosball. They are all too cute for words. The amazing part is that the girls are taking care of all of them without having to be reminded! As of 4/14/07:a baby male sugar glider-Pepino (spanish for cucumber) and two hedgehogs: Her Royal Majesty Henrietta and His Royal Majesty Herbert the Hedgehog. I have some terrible news to share: It's taken me a month just to be able to talk about it. On Friday, May 4, 2007 our beloved Hamlet died "in the line of duty". That's how my hubby puts it. He's always been our protector and that day the girls and I were playing outside. Hamlet killed a water moccassion/cottonmouth snake in the yard. He then ate it in order to prevent the girls from finding the body. The snake had just enough life left in it and bit him internally. We had a really tough week. Both my hubby and Ali didn't sleep and had nightmares. Ali wouldn't play outside because she said Hammie wasn't there to keep her safe anymore. On Friday, May 11th I brought them home a new puppy, Tybalt, to help ease their pain. It's helping a little but there can never be another dog like our Hamlet. He's our hero. Okay, we've had some changes here at the Zoo: Thumper turned out to be male and Porky Pig turned out to be female. We also added a baby male chinchilla on 9/19/07 named Hacky Sack. Then on 9/25?/07 we added a male guinea pig named Chicharone (pork rinds in spanish). Three of the kittens are still with us, again all female: Vino, Guido and Ratchet. We had also reclaimed a puppy we had given the neighbors last year because he was being neglected. His name is Blue. We had a funny thing happen yesterday. Our MALE rabbit:FooFoo, spontaneously combusted and gave birth to 5 babies!!!!!! 11/4/07. We also have 4 butterflies.
