Let me first say that I did return the first Slice I got because it wasn't cutting right (which was a QVC buy the first time and a scrap store the second). So, I am on my second Slice.
This one is much better. Mine does cut through all cardstocks and will usually cut ten times without changing the adhesive. I have had it for months and just now went into a new package of blades. So, I think it is lasting a pretty long time per blade. I like the ease of it and I finally get use up all of the those "scraps" laying around. I finally have somewhere to use them on! yay! I like the fact that you can line up the exact spot of your letters to utilize the Slice to it's best potential.
I only have one issue. Some of the letters and other things are not completely perfect. Not everything ... just a few things. Sometimes I need to do a little more trimming on my letter or image. In general though, hand cutting took me SO much longer to do, so I do see the great advantage in having the Slice. It is the only die cut machine I own and probably the only one I will ever buy!
Hope this helps someone decide on whether or not to purchase ;)
