  • Review: Zutter - Distrezz It All - Electric Distressing Tool

    I recommend this product

Love, love, LOVE this! (18 January 2011)

Altho noisy, the time saved is well worth it. I love making little books--the more distressed the better--but I hate distressing each page by hand. This little machine gets the job done quickly and efficiently. All the excess material is collected in this tiny compartment to be tossed, or cleverly used as flocking. Small enough to be easily stored.

    love it! (29 November 2008)

I had bought one of the smaller ones to include in a holiday gift at my Yahoo group party, and I've been wanting one for myself ever since.

Great for beading (29 November 2008)

I'm set pretty well for my embellishments, but I was looking for something to hold all my letters. This wasn't too expensive, so I thought I'd see how big it was. Not as big as I thought ... would be great for a beader. Lots of compartments, and all the tools could fit in the opposite side. I'll probably give it to my beading buddy.

    I don't recommend this product

Not exactly what I was hoping for at this price (29 November 2008)

Nice enough box, but it was very pricey. First off, the boxes are pretty big, but not as big as I need for my Stampin' Up! chipboard letters. I still have to store them separately. Also, the boxes don't close as securely as I'd like. If I had seen it in a store, I probably would've passed. Oh, and one more thing ... I had to add the letter stickers to the boxes myself. Realized there are only 25 boxes, and they paired up 'PQ'. So, of course, all my P's & Q's don't fit.

Tim Holtz Retractable Craft Scratcher (15 November 2008)

Love it! A gotta have tool if you love the distressed look! Tim showed us how to use it around the edges of photos ... really cool. When people see this technique on my pages, they always comment on how cool it looks. This is actually my 2nd one, so I can keep one in my crop bag, and one for my work station.

  • Review: Advantus - Tim Holtz - Idea-ology - Sanding Block - also known as Sanding Grip

Tim Holtz Idea-ology Sanding Block (15 November 2008)

A little smaller than I thought, and I would've preferred something bigger to fit better in my hand. I'd also prefer some kind of cover over the sandpaper. But since it's small, it does fit nicely in my crop bag. Works great with the video Tim had on his blog--placing his masks under a white-core, patterned paper, then lightly sanding the paper. You're left with the image etched into your paper in white!
