  • Review: We R Memory Keepers - Lucky 8 Punch - Border and Corner Punch - Retro Scallop

    Verified Buyer
    I don't recommend this product

Too limited and too expensive (31 May 2012)

It is easy to forget that you're going to use one 12 x 12" sheet of medium weight card stock for one circle. To me, that is a lot of paper for one design, and while it says that you can use smaller paper as well the result just doesn't look good that way. I'm sure I'll find some ways to use this punch, considering how much I spent for it, but I think even with the discount price Scrapbook.com had offered this punch is overpriced. I will not buy any more.
As for the design, yes, it's appealing, but again, it punches a circle, and how many times can one use that until one gets sick of it?
I cannot in good conscience rate this product any higher. For the price, it should punch at least two different size circles with or without the inside design.

  • Review: Martha Stewart Crafts - Embossing Powder - Metallic - 3 Piece Set

    Verified Buyer
    I recommend this product

My favorite precious metal-type embossing powders (04 May 2012)

Up front, I need to admit that I'm not a fan of Martha Stewart. Seems she wants to take over the entire market, brrrrhhh...

Having said that, I can't help but admit that I really like some of the products that have her name. I have a large assortment of her punches, and about a year ago I purchased this metallic embossing powders set at Michael's with a coupon when they still stocked it.

The gold is more of a patina gold, not sparkly yellow, and I love that. The bronze is just plain gorgeous. I embossed a very detailed fern leaf for a greeting card and it simply popped and added so much elegance. These powders emboss fine detail very nicely, but I'm mainly in love with the colors. I haven't used the silver yet but have no doubt that it is equally beautiful.

Highly recommended, just don't buy them all, leave some for me when I need more!

  • Review: Ranger Ink - Liquid Pearls - Dimensional Paint - Ruby Red

    I recommend this product

    Dries quickly (17 October 2011)

I've read somewhere by a reviewer that dimensional fabric paints work the same and are cheaper, so I tried them. Results were NOT the same: the fabric paints come out thicker and are not easily manipulated and also take forever to dry.
Liquid Pearls, on the other hand, really are easy to work with and create a pretty effect. I purchased several colors to accent flowers or branches, but the uses could be endless.
