This one morning as I awake.
I stumble through the hall
To see if you’re up and awake!

I see you standing there
With those beautiful blue eyes aglow.
And you say to me GiGi I’m ready
For school you know.

My mind rushes back to what seems only
Months ago, of a beautiful baby boy
Just born for me to HOLD.

You are my first grandson and So Proud am I
Please try to understand why Me and Mom tear up and
cry.

Was it not yesterday when you called me by name
Learning to Ride your Bike
And driving mommy insane

You’re here in front of me
Dressed in your school clothes.
No one could be prouder than me, pap pap
Mommy and Daddy you know!

Oh my darling Caleb I love you so.
Keep Jesus with you
As on this first day of School you go.
