"So Be It, Love, So Be It"

If love would only be the innocence
of a child, love would never die
In our hearts and of those we touch
For love would kindle kind candles
of permanent flames
To burn an excitement of hope
of a future to want, to cherish,
to live
And when we leave this life
Our love would sustain
to await the reunion of the spiritual
eternity
We would watch our love roll
To kiss the lips of all it passes through
Yet above all to be kissed too
A kiss that would traverse the winds
to my new place of dwelling
I would hold it, tightly,
Then release it once more
back to all be they far or yonder
To touch, to hold, to have.
