"Being Apart"

He doesn'tít see the tears that fall
Lonely and silently on the pillow
The endless nights tossing and turning
Waking up in search of him

He doesn't hear the prayers to God
Spoken every night for him
Pleading to keep him safe and sound
To give him strength and courage

He doesn'tít know about the thoughts
So many each day, dedicated to him
Wishing he could sense them
And the love that grows each day

He doesn'tít feel the kisses
The ones being sent each night
Hoping they might reach him
To cure the bruises of his loneliness
