Bougainvillea flowers
Flutter
In the faint echoes
For
The scarecrow's palette
Fail to fathom
Clandestine shades
Or
The embryonic legends
Red earth camouflages...

Which rat will win which race ?

Silent stars
Still fall
Where
Filter coffee mugs
Crumble
On an ancient verdict
Cobwebbed and leather bound
In brooding time's fraternity
Whispering
And chanting...

It shall rain
When April comes
And you will flush
Your cracked spectacles
Burn designer shirt collars
Tear colourless papers
And greet
Your eyes once again.

It's been long...
It's been long since you saw more
Than a bougainvillea flower's flutter.
