"Tone of Lust"

Longed for love once, but you and I knew,
Selfish and selfless could not make it true.
Traces of tears, washed away dreams.
Wishes were wasted, tossed into the streams.
What of we now, when reality teaches us,
Stories of soiled love, written in the tone of lust.

Truths told lies, of a couple unhappy.
Spirits silenced, it was not in me,
To decide your dreams of man and wife.
Forming foundations for the ideal life.
Today tops those days when we use to cry.
Love left us mid-stream, our salvation was good-bye.
