Adapted from: A poem for a graduating daughter

Submitted By: dayna555

Young woman, my daughter,
my joy and my heart,
You taught me love unconditional
from that first moment in my arms.

It seems just yesterday
that I held your frightened little hand,
as you started kindergarten
and made new friends.

And now today
a new chapter of life begins,
as childhood and teenage years
(and your simple life) comes to an end.

The world sees the young woman
you have grown to be,
with her charm and her smile,
and own personality.

But behind that young woman,
I will always see,
My beautiful daughter,
my child, my baby.
