Just a little something...
Author: Liz Seeley
We share the same rain and drink the same wines,
See the same stars, just at different times.
The ocean I swim, in reaches your shores,
The clouds in my sky are also in yours.
As the burning sun shines down on me,
The beauty of the moon is what you see.
When viewed like this the world seems so small,
The distance between us, no distance at all.
In reality this isn't right,
Your daytime becomes my night.
The distance between us is so many miles,
I may never see one of your smiles.
Although we talk to each other everyday,
You still seem to be so far away.
I often sit and think of you,
I often wonder if you think of me too.
So as I sat alone on Saturday night,
I tried to think of something to write.
I wanted to be witty, but serious too,
An old time favourite but somehow new.
I hoped that this might ease your worry,
So I've got to get this to you in a hurry.
And if this poem brought a smile,
Even though I can't see it, it will be worthwhile.
