Bath Time
Author: Aparna Iyer
An empty bathtub, cold, and white,
Transforms when you come near.
It rejoices at the sight,
Of a little one so dear.
The coldness goes away,
With one flash of your smile.
Its bubbling water seems to say,
"Will you stay a while?"
You hide behind the curtain,
Playing peek-a-boo,
But you're never really certain,
Whether I'll find you.
The rubber ducky swims along,
Not knowing what else to do,
And then you sing your favorite song,
And ducky starts singing too!
You splash the water to and fro,
And then you start to yawn,
This bath time play is really fun,
But you woke up at dawn!
The warming water is replaced,
By my warm arms instead.
You wrap your legs around my waist,
And I carry you off to bed.
