  • Would I be able to set these in a drawer side by side and put my inks in them? Use the like dividers.   By: nancyrallen (26-Mar-21) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • These simply fit in the stamp pad holder to help the smaller ink pads from falling to the back. They would not work to hold inks themselves. By: Scrapbook.com (20-Apr-21) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

  • why do I need these?
what do they add to the stamp pad holder?
are they required to use the stamp pad holder? (the Portainkpadholder)   By: scrappinJudy (29-Nov-14) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • The stamp pad holder normally fits a large size stamp pad. These inserts will allow the smaller (distress pad size) ink pads to fit into the stamp pad holder instead of slipping to the rear of the slot. It keeps them readily visible. You won't have to dig into the slot to pull out the stamp pad. By: Tying Knots (01-Dec-14) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

    • Also the hero arts ink pads only fit in the holder With the short side showing out and you would not need the insert. But I do not store my hero art pads in these because I do not like the way it looks. I store my tim holtz distress ink pads and my memento and also staz on pads in these and I use the inserts for all these pads because I like them stored long ways better and I don't want to dig them out of the holder. Hope that helps. By: Armbrust7 (01-Dec-14) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

  • Can the stamp pad inserts be use alone and hung on wall?   By: bcwalk (27-May-15) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • No, these are just small plastic inserts that shorten the depth of the slot in order to accommodate smaller ink pads such as the Tim Holtz distress ink pads. They snap into the individual slots of the Portaink pad holder. It would be similar to adding a spacer or small piece of piece of scrap wood into the back of each slot. The Portaink unit itself can be hung on the wall or as a stand alone unit on a desk top or shelf. By: Snook99 (29-May-15) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! • I can't figure out how to put these in at all :( Are there any videos or picture directions?? I don't even know which is the front of the insert. Thanks in advance!   By: Christi_C (21-May-17) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • They are pretty eady to figure out. Yhe solid black plastic is the side that "looks" at you when put it into the slot.
Make sure the 2 nubs on the back of the insert is pointing down. I
f you do not have long fingers (I don't) and you don't have a long fingered hubby (I do) then do this, place the Portaink on flat surface with the front facing you, use 2
pencils thst are long enough and use the eraser ends to push on each side of the inserts, over the nubs would be best.
Note: The reason I use the 2 pencils is because some of these little buggers just will not go in. If you try pushing on them in the middle there is a good chance they will crack.
I cracked 6 inserts in my first set.
Once they are snapped in they aren't as easy to pop out, so you may want to make sure of where you ate putting your shorter pads.
I have all of the SBC ink pads in one and half Portainks with no inserts, the other half has Oxide Pads that do have inserts. Another 1 (I have 3 and just received my 4th yesterday) will not have the inserts as the newest colors of Stampin up pads will go in that one.
Some pads can go sideways into the long slots because they are just a touch too wide like SSS pads and Lawn Fawn pads.
You don't "have" to snap them in, I guess, but it's better than trying to move it back in place in case it goes wonky when pulling out a pad.
A friend of mine just bought adapters for her ink pad set up to fit the new slimmer SU pads and I nearly fell over from sticker shock!

Thank you SBC for carrying these inserts! By: scramblinrosie (31-Aug-19) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

    • Hi, I don't think there is a front and back to each insert. They just slip into the slots and then provide a little "barrier break" so your smaller ink pads don't disappear towards the back of the slot.
