I have tried several...the circle scissor, the fiskars shape cutter, and several others. The only tool I've found that's easier to use than this one is the CM circle tool. However, for the price difference between the two, this is the best choice between the two. There is a slight difference in how easy it is to use, but a huge difference in price.
-On a glass cutting mat, this cuts beautifully.
-Circles are smooth on the edges, not slightly town, or imperfect as I found happened with some other circle cutters.
-Matting is easy to cut, and it's easy to keep track of what size you're cutting (unlike the coluzzle).
-Does NOT work on a self healing mat. MUST be used on a glass cutting board! The packaging did not state this (at least when I purchased mine) but the instructions do.
-On mine at least, the 'maps' in the center do not line up properly. Until I figured this out, I ruined a couple of photos.
Thanks to Flamingo for helping me figure out the sizing issue...I really appreciate it.
I have had some issues with my blade carriage...I am currently contacting EK Success about this...I have heard their customer service is second to none, however!
Hope this helps!

I think I have tried most the of circle cutters on the market. This is simply the best circle cutter there is. I don't have the 13"x13" glass mat. I have a smaller one, but this works great. HINT: If you have a problem with your paper slipping on the glass mat, keep a roll of blue painters tape handy and tape your paper down. Voila, no slipping and beautiful circles. I needed a huge circle once and ended up drawing around the outside edge of the template and cutting that out. I can't wait to get the oval and the rectangle templates that go with this cutter! The blades last quite awhile, but keep a supply on hand, there's nothing like a fresh, sharp blade!

If I could give this 10 stars, I would! I got this as a birthday gift about a month ago. If you go into my gallery, you can see that I've been having a TON of fun with it!
Being a relatively new scrapbooker, I've found myself quite overwhelmed at the enormous range of choices of tools, and I've done alot of impulse buying so I was pleasantly surprised to find that this circle cutter is very consistent, the blade is very sharp- doesn't take much pressure for you to get a good cut, and the variety of sizes is just endless! It really helps give a depth and personality to your pages. It's an inspiring tool that opens a new door in your mind.

I got this template kit as a gift, and I think it works fabulously. I thought it would be such a hassle because it was pretty big, but surprisingly it's not even that big. It cuts a variety of sizes for your layouts, cards, and any other projects. The curvy cutter latches right into the template, and I never have any problem with tearing my paper. I just run the blade around the template once, and I have a perfect circle! Get this tool if you don't already have it!

I'm very happy about the Curvy Cutter Circle Templates. They work well and open a whole new avenue for my creativity. I was disappointed, however to open the package and see there was no cutting tool inside that shows in the picture of the product. When the title said 'kit' and the picture showed the cutter, I thought it was all inclusive. Many other sites I visited did not show the cutter if they were only selling the templates.
I just bought this circle template kit along with the glass mat & cutter and I absolutely LOVE this product!! It works so much better than any other template system I've tried. Unlike the fiskars one, which leaves jagged edges - this template system is perfectly clean. This is a FANTASTIC product and I'm gonna have to go get the square templates next!

I love this tool. What I like best about it is that it is so easy to use and easy to take to crops. Thanks to a new friend, I have just learned that you can turn the cutting tool around to cut larger circles than the EK Success states. This is my favorite new tool.
I would recommend this tool to all my scappin buddies.

You'll love this cutter! I love circles on my lo's and this cutter is fantastic! I have tried a multitude of other circle cutters but nothing works as well as this one! This cuts easily and neatly and in many sizes! Highly recommended!

I have played with this on thick cardstock to thinner patterened paper, and I absolutely LOVE IT! The template has a very smooth track which allows the blade to make a smooth cut. Ek Success has made an awesome product once again!
I have owned and tried many circle cutters. This one really works. It is smooth and easy to use. Also you can flip the blade housing around and use the outside area to cut even bigger circles. It comes with great instructions.

The Cutter Bee cuts through paper and cardstock the way a hot knife cuts through butter. Perfect circles in seconds. Beautiful circle frames. Very easy to use and packaging is reusable for storage.

I've only used the curvy cutter circle templates a few times...So far I really like it!!
Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I don't have the glass mat and it does not work all that great w/a self healing mat.
BUT it does cut a wide variety of sizes and is easy to use!

I didn't know it didn't come with the cutting tool but nevertheless I was able to use one of my creative memories cutting tools and it worked great. Can't wait to actually get the curvy cutter tool so I can cut circles of different sizes.
When I ordered this I didn't realize the "cutter" part was a separate purchase, since it was shown with the templates and I foolishly assumed it came with the set. Perhaps this could be made clearer in future offerings for the templates.
I bought this thinking the cutter came with it. I know, I should've read closer but now I know. But it is a good product. Just know you have to get the cutter too.

I actually just bought this item last night and I am so in love with it. I knew I had to come on a write a good review for it. I have never owned a circle cutting system before. I have never wanted to spend the money on one. I usually just trace and cut the lids of pans and stuff. Last night, I went out on a wim and bought this one.
I am SO glad I did. It cuts beautifully and quickly. A much faster system than what I was doing before.
But the greatest part is this. The directions say the biggest size circle it can cut is 7 1/2 inches in diameter. I wanted a cutter system that could cut bigger than that. WELL I discovered if you just flip over the blade you can cut along the OUTSIDE of the template. This gives you WAY more options. I was able to cut a circle 11 1/2 inches in diameter. I am SO glad I finally bought a circle cutter. I know it will get ALOT of use!!
And am so glad I decided to go with this cutting system even though it is more expensive than some others. I love using it for cutting out photos, mats and patterned paper. It cuts in 1/8" increments, so it makes really nice mats for your photos or can make rings for your pages. If you use the smaller circle template, you can turn the Curvy Cutter tool so it's facing the outside edge of the template and cut out a circle that's about 11-1/2" in diameter. This is a very versatile circle cutter. And like I said, I love mine. I use the EK Success 13" x 13" glass mat and a little repositionable adhesive on the glass to hold my photos or paper in place. It cleans up easily with a little glass cleaner and a paper towel. I also have the oval templates.
This item has been well reviewed. I would like to just add that I love this product.
As well as you dont have to have a glass mat to cut on. If the fact that you dont have one is detering you from buying dont let it. I use a large self healing mat every time I use this (which is pretty often).
I did use a glass mat once to try it out and hated it. My paper and template slid all over the place and I ended up using a self healing mat to finish my cut.
Also this template can be used backwards. You can position the cutting piece to cut on the outside of the circle to make a larger circle. I have done this many times to make a 12 inch circle
I love this cutter! I bought it a year ago and it is the best circle cutter I've ever used. You have to make sure to use the GLASS cutting mat with it or you will be disappointed. The instructions say it will only cut 7 or 8 inch max but actually if you turn the cutter around to face outside the rings using the smaller of the two rings you can cut a circle that will practically be the full size of a 12 x 12 piece of paper. The edges of the circles are crisp and the blade cuts well and you can also make rings by cutting the next size down of your original circle. Enjoy!
This is hands down the best shape cutting system on the market. I am severely craft knife challenged, so I had to find a system with a cutter -- I tried them all and it wasn't until I tried this one that I knew I had found the answer!!! I'm gonna run go PM the other reviewers about the size -- you can put the cutter in backwards and cut around the outside to make bigger and bigger circles -- just to be sure -- I just now cut one over 12" in diameter!!!!!!!! Run to buy this one ladies -- I can't wait for them to come out with a rectangle for mats!!!!!
I admit I was a little weary when I got this as I had other problems with other shape cutters. But the Curvy Cutter changed my mind! This tool is so easy to use! The tool runs in the cutter track smoothly and produces perfect circles everytime! I recommend this product for any scrapper regardless of experience.
I have the oval cutter an I love it! It did take a few tries to get the hang of it but now I can cut out my shape easy and quick. With the template being see through, you can place exactly where you want it...no more wasting paper!
It seems to work very well, but I think I need to buy a glass mat and it would work great! I'm not positive though. I don't know if I push to hard, but the blade tends to get stuck in my self healing mat and then it shifts and my circle isn't perfect, close enough, but not perfect. I'm going to try it with a glass mat and see how that works.
I bought this product searching for a solution for die cutting oval shapes. The product itself is a great idea. Keeping the cutter on track so it cant slip, little chance of messing it up unlike with other types of shape cutters.
However the lines on the clear plastic inserts and the resulting cut shape do not match. I contacted EK Success support on this issue and received a response very promplty saying they would look into it. However i never heard back from them after that. I sent atleast 4 follow up emails over 4-5 weeks each time responding to tell me they were still looking into it, but never once contacting me on the actual problem. I suspect no one was actually looking into it as i had to re-explain the problem each time from square 1. In the end when i told her it was fine if she couldnt help me but that it had been a long time and i wanted to speak to someone higher up that the girl said she would sent me another one as it could fix the problem. Although this was generous i didnt want a 2nd unit, i wanted to know if it was a known fault that was possibly fixed in the new one i would receive. She didnt know and i received the 2nd one it was exactly the same.
I emailed again to let her know, assuming she might be interested and never heard back at all.
So if you just want to cut a shape in an approximate area then i would say it would be fantastic but if you are needing to cut something exactly on the displayed template lines as i did, then it wont work. I assume most people wont need it to be too exact anyways. And my experience was with the oval templates. Circles may be fine i dont know. Just thought i would share my experience with their customer service as i have read in forums how great it is, and this experience dragged on past rediculous.
It was obviously just the airy fairy attitude of the customer service person i spoke to, but when this is the first port of call for a company it doesnt exactly help them!
