A scrappy tool must have is the Scotch ATG Pink Adhesive Applicator Gun. So, so, so many people SWORE that the Scotch ATG was their FAVORITE adhesive applicator. But it was big & red & a little heavy, so I stayed away. Well, when Scotch came out with their slightly less industrial PINK ATG and I found it at a bargain price, I figured I would see what all the fuss was about. THERE IS FUSS FOR GOOD REASON!!! This is THEE VERY BEST adhesive applicator I have ever used! As well as, THEE VERY BEST ADHESIVE I have ever used! 3 major reasons why I love the Scotch Pink ATG & Adhesive: #1: STICKY, STICKY, STICKY--my pages do not fall apart, like they have with other adhesive & the Scotch adhesive for the Pink ATG can adhere to MANY, MANY different surfaces, good for almost any type of sticking you need to do. #2: EASY TO USE APPLICATOR that does not break--to use, pull the trigger and press down & pull towards your body. Simple, right? #3: REFILLS THAT LAST A LONG, LONG, LONG, LONG TIME!! I think this is my favorite, the refills are reasonably priced, do not use a ton of plastic (environmentally friendly!) or take up a ton of space if you like to buy in bulk. AND even if you are an adhesive hog, like me (I have to have adhesive on the perimeter of every piece of everything I put on my pages), they still last a long time. The only complaint I have is that by the time I need to refill the applicator I have forgotten how to do it! Luckily, there are cool little picture diagrams on the inside of the applicator to remind you how to refill :)

I have wanted an ATG gun for a while now because everyone on the forums rave about it. My mom gave me a giftcard for xmas so I ordered one from j.com and it was only 14.99 with a coupon. Great deal! I was a little worried about loading the tape because some people have had issue with it. The hardest part for me was opening it. Once I got it open I just followed the instructions and bam it was in. Totally easy! I love this gun. The size makes you think it would be heavy but it is not. It makes it easy to see on a table full of paper and embellishments, cutting tools etc. It glides across the page way easier than my Glue Glider Pro does and the amount of tape you get greatly surpases that of the glue glider plus there is no big plastic attachment to throw in the trash when I have to change my tape roll which is great for the enviroment. The adhesive forms a permanent bond and has a great hold so I am not worried about my cards or pages falling apart. Another added benefit is the donation for breast cancer that comes from every purchase. So no matter how you look at it this is a great tool to add to your papercrafting arsenal....BUY THIS IS if you are in the market for a great adhesive machine....

This tape gun has made crafting so much less expensive for me. All I had to do was compare the price of refills with this gun getting two reels of tape for less than $10 (depending on acid free or not) for 72 YARDS total as compared to about 50 to 60 FEET from other manufacturers for comparable prices. That means the refills give me THREE times as much product.
Yes the gun costs something - I waited for a sale and actually got two, one for acid free tape and one for regular tape, so I wouldn't have to unload and reload one gun to switch tapes in the middle of the roll. I figure I made back the price of the gun within about 3 boxes of refills, and you know the gun will last a lot longer than that.
Loading the gun is really no problem. There is a video right here on scrapbook.com and there are directions with pictures that come in every box. After you do it once or twice, it's natural to you.
I would say the only drawback is its larger size to accomodate the larger reel of tape, but even that I got over very quickly. At least I don't lose my tape on my desk somewhere!
Very highly recommended
I got this when it was on sale for $20. I am so thankful for the sale; this is by far my favorite Adhesive. If I don't like something I give it away or throw it out if it is horrible--some things just aren't worth passing on. I found loading easy for me. I just followed the pictures on the enclosure and engraved on the ATG. The hardest part is getting the door open, as other reviews have commented.
The adhesive is excellent. I think it is the strongest so far. It does take some getting used to; at first I was stringing adhesive. Then I sort of went back just a bit and the stringing stopped. The adhesive lasts great. I tore my tape once and had to rethread it. It was nice to be able to do that. I never could get the Hermafix threaded and either gave it to a store owner or friend to do for me.
I haven't decided If I'll use it at workshops because of the size or not. It is perfect for home. The size makes it easy to find when I make a mess!
I love my Scotch ATGs. I already had a yellow one that I use with 1/2" adhesive, and have been wanting to purchase a 1/4" gun..... With this price, I couldn't pass it up. I purchased three. One for a gift, and the other two for myself. I plan on putting archival safe adhesive in one for scrapbooking, and using the other one for regular adhesive on cards and gift wrapping : )
If you don't already use the Scotch ATG, BUY IT!!!! It is well worth the money.
One drawback for many is the size; but not for me, it makes it that much easier to find on my desk : ) Who could miss that big pink gun?
PS. Loading the gun is a little tricky at first, but after a couple of refills, you will get the hang of it. Just follow the arrows that are marked on the plastic : )
I had heard and read here and on other messageboards all about how wonderful the Scotch ATG was. I researched online, but couldn't make myself spend $60+ for adhesive. When I heard one was coming out just for us scrapbookers I was beyond excited!
This is the greatest adhesive I've ever used! It looks bulky but is SO easy to use. And being bright pink, you won't lose it in the middle of your mess if you scrapbook like me! The adhesive sticks so well - don't even think about repositioning items! The adhesive lasts a really long time. Economically it really is a must-have. I was buying refills for my Tombow Mono Adhesive (which I also like) CONSTANTLY. I got my ATG in August and just refilled it this week! Definitely a must-have for scrapbooks and cards!

I held off buying an ATG but the pink color I could not resist. I lover that this one is sturdy but very light-weight to use. It is a bit hard to open but I just ask my son to assist in this task. I won't need to open it to change tape that often so it all works out. I personally like having all different types of adhesive tools to change to the one that fits the project I'm working on. Just like using a different coffee mug each day. Plus, this model is more affordable for my budget and it was worth the wait to get one. I would recommend this to anyone and I think you'll be happy with your purchase.
I was looking for a new adhesive because getting my favorite by Creative Memories was no longer an option. So I asked some friends what they use. ATG Gun was the answer. I kept putting it off because of the price and buying the little $5 & $6 adhesives. Finally I got a 50% off coupon went to Michael's and bought it! I LOVE it! Easy to load, easy to use. Because it's so large I haven't figured storage yet and I don't like that the tape is left exposed (it's only a little but evey bit counts). The tape is very sticky and works great. It's not repositionable so be sure of where your taping it'll be permanent.

I was so worried about using a framing gun for scrapbooking, thinking it would be too big and bulky. however when I found out they were coming out with this one for scrapbooking I had to try it. I knew it was the same size as the 714 but figured if it was for scrapping the old one must work, boy is it light! It's so easy to use and it's pink! you really can't beat proceeds going for a good cause and the fact it's so much cheaper than the framing ATG. Plus it comes with 2 rolls of adhesive!! What more do you want? the adhesive is strong and since it's the same size as the 714 you can use the same adhesive!

This is the first ATG I've owned & I love it! I have the Pink Glue Glider Pro & the Red Glue Glider Max, and this is so much lighter & easier to use! For it's size, it is actually lightweight... especially compared to the Glue Glider Max. Not to mention, the adhesive glides SO easily from the gun. You will not be disappointed when you purchase this ATG! It's a great value too, because it comes with 2 rolls of adhesive with 36 yards each!
BTW - I recommend that you watch a youtube video on how to install the adhesive. It was very easy to put the roll in after I saw it demonstrated.

I saw on the Operation Write Home site that the Pink ATG gun was on sale at Scrapbook.com..I had never been to Scrapbook.com, so I immediately went to check it out and there was the Pink ATG on sale for 19.99..I was so excited, I wanted one for so long..I ordered it on the spot and it was here in 2 days..I watched the video and it was so easy to load (after I got it open, which was rather difficult) I love it, I was up and running in no time..every time I pick it up, I am so happy that I ordered it and got such a great price on it..I am now a frequent visitor to Scrapbook.com..
I have been struggling to find an adhesive that I like and that lasts. I like to scrapbook a lot and kept going through like crazy. Then I heard about this new smaller ATG and really wanted to try it. I was always curious about the bigger ones but they were too expensive. So this smaller cheaper one comes out and I had to try it. I love it. It is super sticky and you dont have to use a lot. I am getting use to the size (it takes up a lot of space on my desk) but so worth it! And the refills are cheap and last a while so now I am not buying tape all the time!

I purchased another brand Adhesive Applicator 2 months ago and DID NOT like it. I took a chance that the Scotch ATG brand would work better and I am happy to report that it is the best! After following the instructions to put the roll of adhesive in, which was a little difficult it worked great! The adhesive goes on so smooth and where you want it. I even used it to wrap presents just because I couldn't find the scotch tape and my presents looked so perfect not having tape showing. Making cards is a snap using the Scotch ATG gun! Buy it, buy it!!!!
Yep, another five star review! At first I thought I would give this only four starts, but once I figured it out and how to use it correctly, I was amazed! I use a lot of tape for my projects and this comes in handy and it wasn't hard to put the tape inside. I had to get use to the trigger and use, but now I've got it down and I couldn't be happier. It comes with two tape rolls, should last me a pretty long time. I am also happy that when I ordered it, part of it's profits go to support the Breast Cancer Foundation. It's so pretty in pink too!
Ahhhh! After jillions of dollars buying every type of tape runner, this ATG works....all of the time! Scrappers, cardmakers, artists, you too should all skip buying everything else and go right to the front of the line and purchase this ATG. There are two big bonuses too--1. It's pink. Love the pink! 2. 3M will donate $1.20 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. They promise to do a minimum donation for breast cancer research of $25,000 during 2010 to 2011!!! This would make a great gift for your scrappin/stamping buddies!
I was skeptical at first when my scrapbooking friend said I should have this. I felt like I would totally be betraying my pink glue glider pro by even thinking about another glue gun.
I was nervous about loading it to I like the glue glider pro for that but, I did it just fine.
It glides so smoothly and it only takes a little getting used to squeezing and releasing the lever as you apply the glue.
I love that the refills have 2 in the box!
I just wish it had a cap to protect it for when its not in use.

I was so upset when Kokuyo went off the market and searched for a suitable replacement. Until this Pink ATG came along, I hadn't really found one. But this ATG is AMAZING! Lightweight, easy to use, TONS of adhesive that lasts for a very long time, and friendlier to the environment as you throw away the paper and a small wheel, but not an entire plastic cartridge! Pink, going green! And it being pink is the bonus! It's a great tool and highly, highly recommended!!

The only negative thing I have to say is when I opened the boxes of tape to install one, one of them looked like someone had tried to install it. The white plastic ring inside the tape was not in it. It was just in the box. I used the other one, so now I am not sure I can use the one without the plastic ring. So at this point I only have one useable tape.
I love the gun, it works like a champ and I love it. I would highly recommend this gun to anyone.
I love this tool...works like a dream.
I had a very hard time getting it open when I first rec'd it and was afraid that I would break it. I had my handy man open it finally. Easy to load.....
I have had a competitors gun for several years...i hated it....the tape was always getting jammed and getting onto itself...a real mess.
No similar problems with this tool.....it worked like a dream. I had to make sixty cards for an event....not one problem.
fits well in my hand, easy to lay down the adhesive right where I want it. A fellow user helped me with the only issue I had, which was the adhesive not ending when I wanted it to sometimes..she showed me how to use the trigger to end the tape correctly. I was very frustrated with the small runners, as I was always running out before I finished projects, this is a good solution to that issue. The adhesive is strong. Very pleased with my purchase!
Wow, what a tremendous opportunity it was to purchase this ATG applicator gun and adhesives from scrapbook.com. I have tried many applicators of various sizes and brands, and this one has proven to be the best of all. It was very easy to load and I've made numerous card projects with literally no problem with the gun sticking or jamming up. The adhesive goes a long way. This is a great product from a reliable brand. I would recommend it highly.
I must admit I was apprehensive as I am left handed....
Have had my ATG gun for about a week....found loading
it wasn't at all difficult....I use it exclusively to create Cards and I LOVE IT.....Have been using 1/2 inch for years our of a typical tape dispenser....this is not only quick and easy the 1/4 inch tape works like a charm...even giving me a few
minutes if I have to adjust something....You won't regret
purchasing this product....Deloris
This little baby is AMAZING! I love the fact that its easy to load (it just looks intimidating), it doesn't have a lot of waste connected to it and its pink! I have wanted one of these for a few years now, and finally was able to purchase one and its perfect! I use a lot of adhesive and this is able to keep up my usage. I am so thankful to FINALLY have a product that is affordable, does its job properly and is not so wasteful.

Very easy to load and operate. I love the fact that there is a trigger so adhesive does not get wasted. Easy to find on your table when your in the thick of creating and the paper is everywhere. I would really recommend it based on the cost alone. The refills are inexpensive and you gets many, many, many yards of adhesive, compared to other gun systems. This item is a must have for scrapbook/card making enthusiast. :)
I've been looking for something to replace my beloved Kokuyo and saw positive reviews for the ATG, so I decided to try it. I about fell over when I unpacked it and saw how HUGE it is. I expected it to be unwieldy and difficult to use but I was proven wrong. It fits well in the hand and, best of all, it's super-sticky! I am very pleased with the strength of the adhesive and can now stop grieving over the Kokuyo.
When I first got the atg I was a little worried about putting the tape in but it really is easy, U tube has many videos showing step by step instructions of how to put the tape in the gun, this gun glides across paper like no ones bussiness:) the size IS NOT an issue at all, I find that it feels good in my hand, and trust me when I tell you that you will be making the atg your Main glue gun.
I think the ATG tape glider, is the best think since sliced low-fat cheese. Don't let it's size fool you it is very light weight. I find that this purchase saves me alot of money. I kept replacing the adhesive in the Tombow tape runner as fast as I could load it. The adhesive in very very permanent. I had a little trouble installing the tape roll, but I watched the video and it was a snap.
This great tool makes doing card making a pleasure! It allows you to apply double sided adhesive on many projects before you run out. As awkward as this tool may look, it is easy to maneuver, and light enough to apply adhesive over and over again for almost endless hours of card assembling. Once you use this glider, any other applicator will seem short-lived and time consuming.
I absolutely LOVE this tape runner! I've been using the Yellow Scotch ATG 700 and love that, but wanted one that would also do 1/4 inch tape. I'll leave my 700 at home for the big projects and my "Pinkie" will travel with me. So in love with the fact that it's really lightweight!!! Thank you scrapbook.com for giving us such an amazing price during the 12 Days of Christmas!

I finally decided to give in & get the ATG because I was tired of running out of tape. I had been reluctant because the red one that I had tried from a friend was awkward & difficult to use. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! I was thrilled that the new pink ATG was less bulky & so much easier to use. Loading the tape was easy to follow with directions & I'm very happy I gave it a chance.
I won $50 with my circle layout, and this is one of the items I got. At first I thought that I would not like to use something this large. It did take a little practice to get the hang of it. But now it is the one I consider using first. It makes adhering paper and photo quick and easy. Plus it is a cinch to change the refills. Makes me wonder how I went so long without it.

I love this ATG. At first I was intimidated by the size and how to load the tape but after a few runs I have no problems with it. I prefer buying the acid-free adhesive for it versus the general adhesive. The price is higher but I can always buy it with a coupon. I feel the hold for me is much better. I recommend this to all my crafty friends!
This is a Must- Have!!

I've never had an adhesive applicator before and some friends said this is a must-have for all scrapbookers. I can't believe I've been using glue sticks all these years! This gun is so easy to use and the adhesive is fabulous--no clogging or jamming. My kids even like it because it makes their school poster projects so much easier. Totally recommend.
I have been wanting one of these for forever. I had been checking SB.com daily to see if was in stock and was estatic when it finally was. Got it home and started using it. It is a little confusing to get the adhesive to load but I had it figured out within a few minutes. Its a great tool, I don't know how or why I went without it for so long.
A friend of mine that I scrap with introduced me to this gun and constantly raved about it, so I thought I would try it out.
WOW! It is so light and you do not have to keep refilling it, expecially if you are doing alot of scrapbooking. I used one roll and now I'm on my second roll. It is wonderful!!!
This was my first order from Scrapbook.com I was very pleased that they notified me when the item was in stock. The ATG gun works well and the fact that it doesn't run out of adhesive fast is a wonderful plus. My best surprise was that I discovered this company has video's of how to use the product!
I can't believe I waited so long to get this! For years I bought the little adhesive applicators and dealt with the chore of replacing the refill cartridges 2 or 3 times during each project. I hated it! This is definitely a time saver and a money saver! Love it and love the color!! What a deal!!!!
I switched to the ATG after using a different type of tab/ dot dispenser for 10 years. I found that the ATG refills are much more economical. Plus if you go through a lot of adhesive this one does not need to be refilled as often. It looks complicated but it is not hard to refill.
I have the original red Scotch ATG gun and bought the pink one for a friend (and had to get one for myself) and I absolutely love it. The quality is terrific and of course the refills are so cost effective. After getting used to using it, I wouldn't use any other dry adheasive!!
I have the yellow ATG and thought that might be all I need because it handles two widths. But I saw that this would only be a quarter of an inch wide and had to try it. Especially at this price and I love it!! This one is great for card making and smaller embellishments, etc.
I have been waiting to find a product like this and found it on your website. I am a very visual person, so I love the idea of having the video to show you how the product actually works and even a tutorial on how to load it. I found it very easy to use and love it!
This is the best adhesive I've found and I've tried them all! The initial cost is worth it! The refills are very economical and they last forever! The adhesive is really strong and a little goes a long way! This is a must have for any scrapper/card maker!

I love that the tape is near the edge of the roller so I can place it exactly where I want the adhesive. I was a little concerned about the size, but my worries are all gone. I actually like the size - it's easy to keep up with on a table full of supplies!

I was worried that the ATG gun would be heavy and bulky after using smaller adhesive dispensers, but it fits nicely in your hand, is easy to operate, and the tape glides like butter. I found myself wanting to tape things just for the excuse of using it.
This is my first ATG gun. I love PINK so I was excited to see this one; plus the price is so good. I didn't have a bit of trouble loading it. It has taken me a little time to get used to using the trigger, but I'm very pleased with my purchase.
I have one for myself and recently picked this up as a gift for someone because I love it so much. Easy to use, long lasting and you can buy different adhesive sizes. I especially love the bonus of donating to breast cancer awareness.
I am really happy with my new Pink ATG. I was intimidated when I first saw it since its so big but its easy to use, works wonderful and the adhesive lasts forever. I thought I was going to have a hard time loading but it was a breeze!

After going through at least eight conventional adhesive runner while doing my wedding scrapbook, this seemed like a more economical choose. I love it. I feel as though I have an endless supply of adhesive, although I know I don't.
I am so glad I purchased the adhesive applcator gun! I was so tired of buying the little tape dispensers and running out of tape mid project. This adhesive applicator gun is easy to use and it is perfect for my projects.
I love this tape gun. Fantasticly agressive adhesive in a hard to loose gun! I love it even more because it's pink. i just wish that since the adhesive is only 1/4 inch wide that the gun width would also shrink.
I just received this. I know some people had a hard time opening the first time but mine opened very easy with hardly any pressure at all. It has been working perfectly! I love this. I find it very easy to use.

I had one ATG gun and since we winter in AZ, I wanted a second so we would have to haul it back and forthl. I actually enjoy this second one more than my original. Very fast ship and a great price.
Never thought I'd like working with something that I thought might be big and bulky but I must say it's EASY and light weight and the tape glides on like butter. Now I'm addicted!
I now use my ATG for everything! It was a little difficult to load the adhesive the first time I got it, but after that, it is a cinch! I would definitely recommend to anyone.

When I received the gun, I wasn't quite sure if I would like it. I tried to follow the directions on how to put the adhesive in to it. I got a little confused so I went back to scrapbook.com to watch the video on how to put it in...the video was pretty clear and I had no problems. I used the tape gun all evening making cards and it was wonderful! If I would've been using a smaller tape runner, I would've run out of tape in no time. You can make a lot of cards and scrapbook with one adhesive roll. It is also very smooth when running it along the paper or your project. Very fun to work with! I'm glad I purchased it and it was also nice to see some of the proceeds go to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Fund.
Thanks so much! Desiree'
I got this ATG about a year ago. I really come to love this tape gun at first I thought it would be hard to handle. Since I'm left handed but it very easy and the tape last you a long while. But it depends on how often you use the gun to tape things down. Sometimes the tape can get caught on the plastic when using it. Only draw back for me is that it Pink! I don't care for Pink but can live with it if I must. No matter the color it is a good tool to have if you're looking for a new adhesive glue runner.

I have been watching a lot of You Tube, trying to upgrade my techniques in scrapbooking. Everyone seems to have an ATG, which I couldn't afford until now! Thank you for making this so affordable. I really like it and enjoy using it. I would highly recommend it. The only thing I suggest is watching a you tube tutorial on how to load it. I ruined a roll of tape trying to follow the written directions. Other than that.... it's a great product. Worth adding to your tool collection!
What a time and money saver - no more running to the store for an adhesive refill (if you can find the correct one) for the little adhesive applicators and of course it is usually after the store is closed! I won't need a refill for a very long time!
I do wish it was easier to insert the adhesive tape - went to U-tube to get clearer directions and then I was off and running or rather gluing.
Other than that I love, love, love it.
I have been trying to find the right kind of adhesive for a while. The small ones are nice but trying to find one sticky enough for a good price was difficult; plus they sometimes got lost in all of my scrap supplies! I just recently go the Scotch ATG and absolutely LOVE it. The adhesive is strong and lasts longer than the small ones. The only drawback to this item is that the adhesive can be a little bit tricky to reload.

I am pleased with my ATG gun eventhough I had to have my husband open and load it for me. I just couldn't get it open. My hands are very small and I was afraid I was going to break it. I think it will take some time to get use to completely, I still find myself reaching for my smaller tape runners. But I would definitely recommend it to others because I think it will save me money in the long run.
So, I finally got myself an ATG for my birthday. I do love that the adhesive lasts forever. The thing I don't like is it does tend to clump and stretch the adhesive instead of sticking to your project. Maybe it's more user error. LOL! I didn't have trouble loading either. Written instructions seemed pretty easy to follow, but I know there are youtube videos as well.

I resisted buying the ATG for a long time for fear that it was too bulky, too expensive, etc. Now I wish I had bought one long ago! I've run through so many of the little tape runners, but the ATG lets me work for hours and hours before refilling. Installing the refill the first time was a bit intimidating, but once you do it, it's a snap from then on. Terrific product!!
I had been waiting for years to get the applicator gun, but had put it off because they were expensive. This one was on sale at the right price, with a bonus of being a beautiful pink! I am very happy with the applicator; the adhesive loaded easily, it puts down a nice even stream of adhesive, and I won't have to buy the expensive small glue runners.
This is a big change -literally-from my little Tombow. It took a minute to figure out how to load it, but it really wasn't that bad. The adhesive is super-duper stickly, not really repositionable (but that's a separate review). It's a little awkward to handle at first, but overall it's a great gun and holds a lot of adhesive (and it's pink!).
I am just not sure if I am not using it right. For some reason sometimes when I am using the adhesive pulls off the paper in a long string and bulks up under my paper... Other than that it is AWESOME! I really like that the roll is so big too... :) Actually hand made christmas cards this year!
I only gave four stars because I had some difficulty getting the gun open to fill. Once open it is easy to load and easy to use. With arthritis in my hands it makes it a lot easier to apply adhesive with this than trying to use the small dispensers. It just glides on. I love it!
This is my first time using an ATG and I am happy with it. Took a minute to get it working properly but that could have been the user :). I have little hands so after awhile it gets harder to hold. Otherwise it is a great tool.
It will take some getting used to, going from a little tape runner to this quite large gun but can't wait to get started. No more tossing out lots and lots of empty plastic runners!
It's a little big and currently adjusting to the size. Found it hard to open the first time to load the roll of adhesive but after that it was fine. It was very simple to load.
I'm one of those people who doesn't get all the excitement about this product. Either it is the learning curve thing or I am just not able to make mine work quite right. It did take forever to get the thing to open and let me put in a roll. I thought I was going to break it. When I finally did, I guess I didn't get it put in right the first time because it popped out and the roll exploded all over inside the gadget eventually. Thankfully, I was able to rethread the roll and not waste too much adhesive. I also find that I have some problems with the adhesive stretching (instead of sticking to the project) and balling up so that I have to remove it and get my fingers all gummy. It can be very frustrating because it happens fairly often. I do have to give it credit for being a very reasonably priced adhesive - since the roll does last forever and also can give it even more credit for the adhesive being very good at holding. If you put something it place, you'd better really want it there.

After reading the instructions and watching the video I attempted to insert the roll of adhesive. The plastic ring inside the roll fell out leaving me with the aggravation of attempting to insert it by following the instructions. What a mess! Finally , I ditched that roll and used the second one, finally I got it. I feel the plastic door is almost impossible to open for the first time and that the waste of the first roll is an over priced nuisance. It does seem to function well SO FAR..my vote is out for further use!
After hearing all the great reviews on different blogs I decided to give the ATG a try. I am kind of disappointed. First off it's very large in size and hard to handle. Secondly the continuos tape keeps breaking. My friends tell be to keep using it and I will love it but the jury is still out on that.
I was so excited about buying this! It did not live up to my expectations. It does take some practice to apply the adhesive where you want it; I never mastered it. The adhesive tends to lump together in places, and it's such strong adhesive, it's difficult to remove those stuck-together lumps.
My biggest complaint is that the tape keeps moving to the edge of the applicator roller until it is half off. I have reinstalled the tape cartridge but after just a short bit of use, the tape is starting to come off the edge again.
I asked around, and several people said that it's just a characteristic of the product. I got too frustrated with it and just don't use it at all.
Seemed like a goot idea to help the environment by reusing the larger case. However, I was very diappointed in the item since the tape does not flow smoothly. It seems to clump up
and makes a mess. Tried to return to scrapbook.com, but was told they would not allow a return since it had been opened. I feel cheated since I would not have know how it
worked unless it was opened and tried. Don't waste your money!
I can't get this open to load the tape. My husband can't get this open to load the tape. Scotch 'customer service' hasn't been helpful (she told me to call her back, I told her when Id call, and then on the appointed day, she took the afternoon off - she could have told me that and I would have called earlier). I spent my money and it isn't usable. Arrgh!
I was very disappointed in this product. The adhesive will not adhere anything. I've tried numerous weights of paper with no luck. Before I purchased, I read all the wonderful reviews, so am not sure why a product rated so wonderful could be so disappointing. I will be returning the product.
Maybe the glue is old, but I can't get it to stick to the paper. It comes up when I lift the gun. I like the idea of a gun instead of the small rollers, but I'm not having very good luck with mine.
If you are going to get this gun, you need to watch the following two videos, or it will frustrate you to use this item:
The first is how to load it where an actual 3M/Scotch rep shows youtuber "craftcritique" how to load it frustration-free. It's called "How to load the 3M Scotch ATG Gun" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kim9tzClQU8)
The second you need to see is from youtuber "stampalotholly" called "Scotch Pink ATG gun" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tj3QivIPtfY), but really only from the second half, 03:07 on. The first half she shows you how to load it, but the 3M rep's method is easier. What she shows you in the second half is how to use the gun so that the glue doesn't stretch, lump, or clump at the end. I was frustrated with that until I followed her instructions.
Other than those recommended videos, I'll add my feedback that I really love this gun (now that I know how to use it), so much that I'm going to purchase a second one for the general tape in order to avoid having to change out the rolls all the time. The adhesive is strong, and using it has really sped up my crafting. The only think this gun can't do as well as glue or Xyron is glitter and flocking, but for everything else, it is wonderful!
I Just received my applicator gun and I love it. It was a bit tricky to open it. Took me about 5 minutes and followed the YouTube directions as suggested by someone else who reviewed the product and it works like a charm. It was up and running in less than 10 minutes. Then I tried to use it and it stuck to th paper and gun......I watched the rest of the video and got it working perfectly. Love it!!!
All things considered, I got a good deal on Amazon, got my gun for $14, with 2 rolls. I recently purchased 3 tombow refills for about that price.....will obviously still use the small applicators for small projects but i won't be going through them as fast as I used to. Plus I love that it's PINK and won't get lost on my table....I'm a verrrry messy scrapper!!!
I was thrilled to see that this ATG gun was only $20 at Scrapbook.com but the shipping made it $30 total. This was still a good deal until I saw them for sale at Michaels for $39 but with the 40% off coupon and no shipping, it came to less money than scrapbook.com. I must say the shipment came in record time and was well packed. If you are not near a Michaels, get this deal on line. Normally the ATG guns are $50 and up, up, up. The gun comes with two rolls of tape and is less expensive to buy than the refills for other tape runners per inch.
I just purchase mine today. got it on sale for $20. The hardest part about it was getting it open, but after that loading it is a cinch! (I watched the video on how to load it!) I was very skeptical about it because my husband had used it on a job before...and he had difficulty. But armed with a few tricks on "breaking" the adhesive from the sb.com ladies, i have had no difficulty with it after a few trial runs! It looks big and bulky, but it is in no way heavy!! I highly recommend this product!!
This so awesome. I did not get the ATG 714 because of the price. I was saving up to get it. I use my friends 714 and I love using it. I knew I needed one. I saw this new pink one for us papercrafters and I grabbed it right away. And price is great! It is easy to use, once you get use to the trigger. It's not hard to learn. Now, I don't go through all those Tombow refills, even though I still use them when I'm out at a stamp camp or scrap camp. This awesome. I recommend it to all papercrafters.
I hate every adhesive out there, except the pink atg! First its pink, thats awesome! Second the tape lasts forever, I used to only get through like 3 or 4 pages and I was looking around for more adhesive - but not any more. It is very cost effective, once you purchase the gun the refills are only like $10....for 2!!!! I am so happy I purchased this and I will be using it for a very long time to come!!!
Yes, it's big and bulky. At first I was intimidated but, to be honest, it really didn't take me long to figure out how to use it and how to line it up correctly. Very user-friendly! I was tired of fighting with my Glue Glider Pro so when this came in the mail, the GG Pro went immediately into the "donate" box. Another plus...the adhesive sticks really well! I'm extremely pleased with my purchase!
I have an ATG 700 (the yellow one), but couldn't resist getting this pink one! I'm now using the yellow one for scrapbooking (since it takes the wider tape) and the new pink one for cards. It appears to be a little lighter in weight, but works every bit as well as my old trusty 700.
Give that two rolls of tape are included, you just CAN'T go wrong for the price!
the refill last so long that you don't have to worry about it for ohh many many projects!!! plus it sticks to everything that i've tried so far and if you happen to put to much glue, well you simply rub your finger on to it and is rolls away! it's a no mess product that will replace a lot of your adhesive supplie, making the atg a good investment!
I'm so glad I bought this adhesive!! It has very quickly become my favorite, and trust me i've tried them all. I've worked at a scrapbook store the past few years and this is one of the best adhesives out there. It sticks anything. My favorite thing to use it on is chipboard albums and ribbons. Fabulous adhesive! I highly recommend it!
I love this gun and the 1/4 inch adhesive. It was not hard to load at all and the adhesive is really strong. The size works great for ribbon on scrapbook pages or on cards. It comes with lots of extra adhesive. Well worth the price, a real bargain. I would highly recommend it to all scrapbookers and card makers.
wow - i received mine as a gift from my friend (tks !!!!) and it is absolutely amazing - after years of scrapping a product which is truly time saving and useful - quick and easy to use and the pages stay together beautifully when sliding them into their sleeves...i love it !!!
This tape glider is an excellent product. The directions for threading the tape are fairly clear, and once you have the tape threaded correctly, the glider does a great job of laying down tape. I've used another tape glider, but the ATG is a superior product.
A must for a serious card maker. It runs forever, and the quality of the adhesive can't be beat. The acid free version is wonderful for photos and scrap-booking., Been using mine fir 2 years, and I'm glad the refills are easier to find.
hands down the best glue runner. I've tried lots, this is the ONLY one that has never gummed up. I've never cleaned it in years but the way it is designed, the glue doesnt gum up. Easy to replace the tape rolls. Glue really sticks.
I am so happy I waited to buy an ATG gun until they came out in pink! I love it! It is so convenient...I can't lose it, it doesn't need to be refilled every few cards I make, and it adheres so well! Definitely recommended!
I purchased this adhesive to save money over buying the smaller, refillable tape runners. I am so happy to not run out during one sitting! The adhesive is also very strong, once it's down, it's down! Loving it more everyday!
I love this ATG gun! I like it better than a tape runner. I have arthritis in my hands & even so, this is a great fit. I can use it w/out my hands hurting & can actually hold onto it as well.
I used a friend's purchase this weekend to test it out. The tape glided off easily. It was smooth to operate, and did not seem overly heavy for it's size. One thing I'd like to see in future developments of the gun is that the red wheel the tape runs on is probably double the size of the 1/4" inch tape. From information I just listened to in the video, this gun only takes the smaller tape. Why not decrease the size of the wheel so that users can better see where tape is being applied?
I like to scrapbook a lot and kept going through like crazy. this smaller cheaper one comes out and I had to try it. I love it. It is super sticky and you dont have to use a lot. I am getting use to the size ,because it is bigger than the CM tape I am used to...but so worth it! And the refills are cheap and last a while so now I am not buying tape all the time!
I would recommend it to all my friends!
I bought this because it got such rave reviews from others online. It does have a little bit of a learning curve, but after about a half hour, I got used to it. You forget how big it is. The only thing I don't like is that you can really use it to navigate little pieces and areas. Otherwise, I think it's worth it.
I got the ATG Adhesive Applicator Gun because I got tired of getting adhesive refills. I have mixed feelings about it.
Good: It is lasting a lot longer than my other adhesives.
Good/Bad: it really sticks (accidentally got a piece of paper stuck on one of my cutters - now gotta figure out how to get the adhesive off).
Bad: The adhesive has a smell to it. I checked the other ATGs at the store and they had the same odor (also checked another store - same thing). If anyone is sensitive to smells, they might want to think twice.
I like that this lasts longer than a small glue runner and the pop-in cartridges are easy to install. However, if/when the tape doesn't run right, it is impossible to "fix" it and I don't want to waste the large roll, so limp along placing small strips by hand.
First off, please don't use this review as purchase consideration if you are right-handed. I don't think this is quite as fabulous for the left-handed as it is for right-handers. I am extremely left-dominant, and can't do much of anything that requires fine coordination with my right hand. Because of the shape of the device, it is a lot harder to apply tape right on the edge and in a straight line. It's just very awkward to use with your left hand. On the other hand (pun intended), my right-handed housemate thinks the ATG is fabulous. I even made my lefty brother try this out, to be sure it just wasn't me. He could not understand why I bought it.
I am used to things not working as well for me because I am left-handed. That's just the way the cookie crumbles. What irritates me in general (and why I gave this 2 stars) is that far too many companies are not forthright in their product descriptions about something being shaped for right-handed use only, or optimized for use in the right hand. Bottom line: If you are a lefty, don't buy this until you have a chance to really try one out. Same advice if you are buying this for a lefty: make sure they really know that they can use it first.
Oh, and if anyone from 3M reads this review - I would gladly pay $100 with no discount for a left-handed version of this! I can see how it would be great to use in the right hand if that was possible for me.
