If you ever travel to scrap, these boxes are a must have!! They save a ton of spaces versus packing each cart box, and keeps them well protected. The ribbon in my box didn't last very long though, but you don't really need it to keep the overlays in place.

This solved my problem for those Cricut carts with no regular storage box. I like that there's space for the overlays with the carts. Best of all, it holds eight of each in one box which saves space.
Boy did I need this! .......storing my solutions carts was a major issue for me .......now i can keepthem where all my carts are ....nice and organized!

I scrap a lot outside of my home. 8 separate cartridge cases takes up a LOT of room in my tote. This works pretty well for what I wanted it for, which was an easy way to take lots of cartridges with me. The plastic that holds the cartridges is perfect.
When I ordered mine in Jan 2009, it did not come with the green ribbon. I'm glad, because I too think the ribbon is useless. The overlays just stack up on top of the cartridges. I do wish the box was slightly bigger. You have the stack the overlays pretty square to get the box closed, without much wiggle room. However, that's a minor detail. I'm pretty OCD so I tend to line things up anyway. :)
This is really nice for the solution cartridges, since these do not come in the nice boxes as the other cricut cartridges do. This is a great way to keep all of cartridges together and protected.
I don't like this box because it doesn't want to stay closed. However, if you have a lot of the cartridges that come in the clam shell packaging, you don't have a choice but to purchase this box to store them in.
You KNOW they have some brilliant minds working at ProvoCraft....just look at the Cricut itself! But the genius ends where this storage case was invented. The main problem? It doesn't really hold stuff. And that's important for a storage case don't ya think?
The case itself has two sides, each of which is as deep as a traditional Cricut cartridge case. Each side has a plastic insert which holds 4 cartridges and then there is enough space left to store 4 of the cartridge overlays. So, in theory, if you filled it to capacity it should hold 8 cartridges and 8 overlays.
Here's where the problems start. This comes with one (yes, just one) very slippery green ribbon which you are supposed to use to tie in a little bow to hold the overlays in place when you close the unit. But, if it is filled to capacity, that only holds down one side. And who has time to tie a little bow every time they close this storage case anyway. Not to mention that when you open it, the side without the bow has overlays flying everywhere.
I am completely disappointed with this product. It is poorly designed, poorly conceived and poorly executed.
