In this kit comes a cuttingmat, a swivel knife (for use with Coluzzle templates) and a retractable craft knife.
You just put the cuttingmat on your table, place a paper of choice on top of the mat and then a template of choice on top of your paper. Then you use your swivel knife and just follow the template until you've cut everywhere and your shape is done!
What I really love here is the swivel knife that even cuts through the thicker photopaper that I print my pics on. It needs a little more pressure than if you cut through regular pp or cs, but it works!

I am a big fan of the coluzzle with all the shapes. It is very easy to use especially since I can't cut a circle to save my soul. I use a clipboard to put the white pad on and that is a big help when cutting. I find myself grabbing for this all the time and I only have the basic shapes, square, circles, heart, oval and some wave rulers.

I just got mine today...and...first impressions are good. I love how easy it is. I just wish it came with a template or something but hey they're not that expensive anyway. All in all a great purchase and a great addition to anyones scrap tote :)

Cheap product: not worth what you pay
I love my cricut, but there are times I just don't want to deal with all that work. The coluzzle is nice because it is just cut and go. Very simple and mess free. There is a learning curve with the coluzzle. It took me a while to realize that you can't always go the full way around a letter in one knife move. You have to stop, pick the knife up and do it again. I would highly recommend this though. The cuts are very clean and nice.
i remember when i first bought my coluzzle--i could not put it down! i remember telling someone that i don't know how i ever lived without it! it's easy to use, and not as expensive as many other cutting systems. plus it's super light-weight, which makes it super-portable!
I have the Coluzzle starter kit and many templates to go with it. I have used it many, many times. It cuts great and I enjoy using it.
This is my all time go to tool...I love it:)
Coluzzle is my first cutting tool. I really enjoy how easy it makes cutting shapes. The swivel knife is cool and really does swivel! Though it does take a bit of getting used to. Having said that it took me only a couple shapes to get the hang of it. I like its no fuss simplicity and deilvers great results every time. Templates are great and make cutting standard shapes like circles a breeze!! The starter pack comes with simple instructions and useful tips and ideas.
Drawbacks: Some people might find it a bit fiddly to use, and you do need a steady hand and just the right amount of pressure to get it perfect. Also initially one needs to be careful not to scratch templates or damage the blade when practising. The cuts are incomplete and need to be completed with a fine scissors/craft knife, which some might find a pain. I personally don't think it's a problem. Finally the tiny blade is sharp and exposed so definitely not one for younger kids.
Otherwise I think it's an indespensible tool that doesn't cost much and does the job!
If you are not quite ready for a large die cut machine, the coluzzle is a perfect first step. The supplies are very simple: a foam mat, a swiviling craft knife and one of their reusable, innovative templates. Although there is a bit of a learning curve for keeping the craft knife in the cutting grooves and making smooth turns, this product is easy to use and even easier to store. I simply used a binder with page protectors to keep all of my templates in and stuck it on a shelf with my idea books. The coluzzle is super portable and has a great variety of templates. The fact that is is clear makes cutting out where you want on paper or photos even easier! My favorite template? The file folder, tabs and envelope maker. Even though I own a cricut, I would never get rid of this great product. I use is frequently and look forward to even more templates coming out.
Yeah this is a great thing, I bought this well before my cricut, and even though I have it I still use my col. because I like to cut out photos, and certain designs.
My friend gave me a whole set of the Coluzzle stuff because she never used it and I have to say I'm not impressed. The knife cuts ok, but no better or worse than any other cutting system out there. I find myself going to my Fiskers cutter, my Cricut, Sissix or other die cut set before even looking at these. I have found that the knife blade doesn't last very long and that the sheet you put under what you're cutting gets gouges after just a couple of uses so you have potential to to ruin a project. Again - just not a big fan.
